Simon Jordan believes Liverpool is in a strong position to win the title because they have picked up significant momentum, performing well in the league and Champions League. Hello, everyone. Hello, mate. Happy Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas, you filthy animal. Not yet. Tomorrow's Christmas. I'm saying to you. Oh, okay. It's just to you. It's not to them. Happy Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas. Are you excited about it? Merry Christmas, you filthy animals. Welcome to another Andy Goldstein Talks About Daily Podcast with me, your host, Andy Goldstein. And, of course, old Scrooge over there, the fun boy, Jesse.

Mate, I'm looking forward to it. Let me ask you this question. Go on, matey. Have you stuffed your bird yet? Oh, matey. Can't wait. Cannot wait. Have you stuffed it yet? Not yet. Not yet. I've got my spuds ready. You need to give it a good stuffing. I think I will, mate. What I like to do is I like to stuff the bird Christmas Eve and wake up Christmas morning and then just stuff a little bit more. Okay.

Oh, okay. You do stuffing two days? Why not, Stinks? Why not, mate? I'll be honest. I spend about 20 minutes stuffing. Yeah. I make sure the breast is right. That's my favourite part. Yeah, yeah. And then all of a sudden, gravy everywhere. Gravy? Oh, I love gravy. You can't beat it, mate. I do like as well, Stinks. Oh, go on. I do like a bit of horseradish everywhere. Do you? Yeah. That surprises me. Yeah, no, I love it. You know what I've...

I'll have a pig in a blanket. Oh, stinks. Been many a time, matey. Many a time over Christmas. I once spent Christmas in Ibiza. Oh, yeah? I reckon over the period of a week. Yeah. Around the Christmas period. I probably had five pigs in blankets. That's quite a lot of stinks. I know. That's quite a lot, mate. I think we've all been there, stinks. Yeah, we've all gorged. Anyway, stinks. Well, it's Christmas. It's stinks. We should just move on, matey. Ah, anyone seen Christmas? Stinks, it's Christmas.

It's nearly hair stinks. It is, Jay. And we begin with the reaction to the Mahosi fight at the weekend where Usyk defeated Fury to defend his heavyweight world title with another close points win in their rematch in Saudi Arabia. Correct. Now, Simon Floppyhaired uses lemon juice in his head. Jordan says Usyk has proven himself as one of the best of a generation stinks. That's what he says. I think he's the best of this particular generation because he's proven to be such.

I mean, it's interesting to see how he behaves. He always behaves with the maximum amount of dignity, but we haven't seen him lose. But my guess would be if he were to lose, I think he would still behave with the prerequisite level of dignity that seems to evade others. We've seen Fury's outburst before the fight, which I thought was unpalatable, but it goes with the territory sometimes. I think the fact that he loses the fight and doesn't see it that way and talks about it. He accepted in the build-up they lost the first fight. Now, for his version of events, he's now won the first fight and won the second fight. Anthony Joshua,

loses the second fight against Usyk and has a meltdown in the ring. Usyk drives them insane. They can't find a cure to him. They can't find the antidote. He's kryptonite to all of them. I don't think he likes big punchers. He doesn't like people... Someone's got to work really hard with Usyk. Someone's got to be really focused and...

I suppose to coin an expression someone just sent me, fighting a red line all the way because that's what Usyk does. He fights in the red line and someone with a big... Because he doesn't like big punches. He didn't like what Daniel Dubois did to him in that fight, albeit Daniel Dubois wasn't quite competent enough to be able to deliver it. I think Usyk is beatable. I know this will sound like I'm being mean-spirited about it, but I think someone has got to be really at their game and fury at 36 years of age that doesn't live his life the right way, that probably is on the other side of his optimum levels...

Wasn't the test. And his final host, Gareth A. Davies. You're not the ace then, are you? I do, Stinks. Yeah, no, I can't. I'll say it, they'll bleep it out. No, I can't. I'll say it, they'll bleep it out. Yeah, you've got it. Anyway, old... Was claiming we could see a third fight between Usyk and Fury. When the dust settles, we may actually get a third fight because it feels that maybe...

they haven't finished with each other yet even though i've penned a piece today and i've talked about it that the rapier swords that he brought out the cossack sword that ucik brought out at great expense and at great length from from uh ukraine to present in the ring the cossack the symbolic thing that he did as he kind of sliced his way through tyson fury in the fight is

That he belongs in the pantheon now, having got the two victories over Tyson Fury. He belongs in the pantheon, the top 10 heavyweights of all time, in my view. I put him down at about seven, between Mike Tyson at six and Evander Holyfield at eight. I think he's now usurped the position that Evander Holyfield had in my top 10. TalkSport Daily. Now, an impatient Ang Prostacoglu once again defended Tottenham's approach, and he said they never...

It was unbelievable. Unbelievable. It never changed despite shipping. It says shipping. Six goals at home to Liverpool. Martin Keown urges instincts to reconsider. I heard someone to do something the other day. Did you? Yeah. And? Yeah. Didn't work, mate. No, I'm surprised. No, it didn't work. No, no.

I think I've been really, really patient the last 18 months, sitting up here answering the same questions over and over again. If people want me to change my approach, it's not going to change. We're doing it for a reason. We're doing it because we think it'll help us be successful. If people don't understand the circumstances we're in at the moment and the challenges we have...

From a team and squad perspective, which are as obvious as you'd want to make them now, I get the idea that people think that I should just flick the switch and change and somehow that would miraculously make us a different team. But it is what it is. He looks exhausted to me. He looked bemused.

It was a painful day for Spurs fans. He said that there was not enough, the energy levels needed to compete weren't there. He's not for changing his style. When any new manager comes in, if I take you through my career, when I was having to fall into the path of Arsene Wenger, which was an amazing turnaround for me, he came on board with really strong views of how we should play. And we reached a stage where Lauren and Ashley Cole were being told, attack, attack.

On the pitch, there has to be a player or players that say, OK, let's get some balance. Boss, we need some balance. I was trying to bring that on the pitch with other players around me that were used to playing under George Graham. It seems here as if they're hell-bent on playing this high press, high line from the back, and they're getting punished. But the manager probably needs to adjust that scoreline 3-6-2.

It's unbelievable. It's just like crazy time. You want to entertain. If you can, that's a utopia, isn't it? So people, it's a lovely view while we win. And at the moment, they haven't got the balance right. And it doesn't really wash. He's going to have to start improving what he does on the pitch now. He's got to get results, Jim. It's now becoming a hard watch for the team. That's eight defeats we said. And it's becoming a little bit of embarrassment. But he's tried to change the culture. This is a club that was celebrating last season when Man City beat them.

They were celebrating that their neighbours, their neighbours weren't going to win the league. And that was precisely the point that Pastor Coghlu was making, wasn't it? Correct, correct. So he's having to change. And these are a set of fans, you know, who now want to win for themselves again. Here's Shaban saying she has no sympathy for Big Ange Pastor Coghlu having to field the same questions every week. I agree with Shaban.

I do. I think she's great at Shabana. No, I think I listen to Shabana. Do you? No, I don't. You should listen to Shabana. When I'm with her, I do listen to Shabana. If you're with her and you don't listen to Shabana, it would be rude.

It will be Sting's. Ange, expect the same questions if you're going to play it the same way. Tighten it up at the back. Now, I will give them, it's you, it's a depleted squad. 10 proper seasoned players are out.

You know, defensively, they were just all over the gaff yesterday, leaking six goals. It could have been eight, it could have been ten. It was really, really poor. It was an absolute disaster class. But if you're going to be so stubborn with the way you're going to be playing, then expect the press to be just as stubborn because for now, you cannot expect to keep going in the Premier League, leaking that many goals and losing that many games without there to be repercussions. It's going to happen.

On to Liverpool and Simon. Floppy head, uses lemon juice in his hair. Jordan thinks it may be Slot's title to lose. Oh, you love Slot. Oh, Sting, do you know what, mate? So good. Would you like to hand it to Slot?

No, I definitely wouldn't. No. I've heard he's a bit of a slippery character. That doesn't surprise me. I heard someone the other day say slippery slot. Slippery slot. And I'm like, well, that's a bit harsh. You know how to be in Liverpool not long, a few months? Yeah, I know. I did hear someone say stinks. It's looking a slot like Christmas. I wonder whether they're talking about... Arnie. Yeah.

Yeah, or maybe the burden he's stuffing. Anyway, Stinks. I mean, I think Liverpool have picked up a significant momentum now in everything that they're doing, not just in the league. They're phenomenal in the Champions League. They're in the semi-finals of the League Cup, so everything at this moment in time is on the front foot.

A lot of that credit must go back to Jurgen Klopp for the team that slot inherited because they didn't buy any new players. The culture of the club is obviously right and they've caught a perfect wave, haven't they? The other teams aren't performing at the level we thought they would. Arsenal haven't performed at the level that I anticipated they would. Man City have dropped off a cliff. Man United are a joke.

And the only ones that are knocking on the door are Chelsea. And so I think it's Liverpool's to lose. On out to kick off with Adrian Durham, Danny the Magnet Murphy, that's his nickname, genuinely, that's what he said, and Darren Lewis, the assistant to the assistant editor of the Mirror. Gabriel Jesus had the majority of his success at Man City playing off the right side and did it brilliantly when they won the title as well.

played a hell of a lot of games on that right hand side and gets goals from there because he comes in off the right and he does his defending as well as anyone as a wide. But Dan do you think there's an irony about the fact that he has done so well from that position but the last two games where he scored five goals it's been through the middle and he seems to have had a new lease of life. Some of the match reports from yesterday are talking about the fact that he's gone from a

A nothing player, probably too harsh, but very much on the fringes, very much looking as though he's going to be sacrificed in the window to being a player now suddenly who's the answer through the middle without necessarily being the answer on the right-hand side. Because if you do stick him there, what then do you do through the middle? Well, you put Havertz back there. I think in an ideal world, you'd leave a player in great form scoring goals in his position.

but needs must. And the great advantage you've got of a player who's now full of confidence, even when you ask him to play a different position, he'll still get chances from that right side because Arsenal dominate teams a lot of the times. And he's a bit different than Saka, obviously, we know that. And he could play Martinelli on the right, he can do lots of things. The reality is with Jesus, he's not just somebody who can score goals from wide positions.

He played wide more for City than he did through the middle. I know he did play through the middle at times, but he was... At City, he got 95 goals in 236 games. That's one in 2.5. To the point where the Brazil head coach was talking about playing him there as well, and people said, what are you playing him there for? He should be playing for the middle. But he saw the effect that he had because he works incredibly hard. I think he's one in four at Arsenal, which isn't as good as the level he was at at City, which could be because you're in and out.

The other thing he's got, which is why I would play him there and ask him to do a job for me, because you're keeping him after me by playing him and he's not the type to whinge, but he's been part of a winning squad at City. He understands that and he never had a problem with it. TalkSport Daily.
