Ugandan opposition figure Kizza Besigye was charged with possession of an illegal firearm in a military court in Kampala days after he was reported missing from Kenya. Stability is returning to northeastern Nigeria after decades of insurgency due in part to the partnership between the military and the Borno State government in reducing terrorist activities and rescuing abducted civilians.
