Cringe comedy is a tough genre to crack. If you go too far, you can make an audience lose interest and not laugh at the absurdity. But if you do it just right, such as in the new film, “I Love My Dad,” you can bring audiences along on a ride that will make them laugh, possibly cry, and definitely feel a bit uncomfortable, but in the best possible way.
