Marie Shadows breaks down the latest drama to sweep the Internet Wrestling Community pertaining to the backlash of the small clip from Swerve Strikland's podcast. Thunder Rosa slander needs to stop.

Just one girl’s opinion. My opinions are my own.

Thunder Rosa slander needs to stop altogether especially from her “co-workers” in All Elite Wrestling. I understand that personal stories and grudges make for great television, but only when there is a clear call for a storyline to develop. We’ve already seen the storyline between Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker. It was compelling. It was good. But now, after the dust settles and both wrestlers have gone their separate ways — in a way — Britt Baker still talks about Thunder Rosa in a negative way that it’s becoming cringe and harassment towards another worker in the business.

That doesn’t help women’s wrestling at all. And fans can become alienated from the words spoken.

So here’s the mini video of the specific clip.

This clip got a lot of quote tweets and most of the podcasting community wasn’t happy with the clip. From the quote tweets I’ve read, they are correct in their opinions. It felt like another bashing that was prompted through highschool instigating in order for elicit a high-and-mighty response. Keep in mind that Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa isn’t in a storyline anymore in AEW, so these comments are unnecessary.

Thunder Rosa got injured recently. That’s why she isn’t on AEW TV at the moment and why we have Toni Storm as interim AEW Women’s Champion. Thunder Rosa suffered a back injury that requires physical therapy care to not have surgery. Thunder Rosa hasn’t said anything about Britt but Britt continues to push the narrative of Thunder Rosa being a bad worker. Back injuries are serious. It’s not like a broken nose or wrist.

Over all, it makes everyone looks bad. So, based on the reaction, it backfired for what Swerve probably had in mind. No one in the wrestling community wants to hear more bashing of Thunder Rosa. Thunder Rosa gave AEW a lot of her women from Mission Pro Wrestling — an all women’s promotion that she started on her own — to get Youtube time for her girls and help create more matches & content for AEW. So, in response to everyone chiming in, the damage control option was to put up the full context video because simply saying to people “just sub” when they’ve made up their minds that the interview is just about bashing — something people probably don’t want to watch — isn’t the way to go for building a platform.

How are we supposed to care about women’s wrestling when someone continues to take shots at someone else when it’s getting old and childish and unprofessional. Just stop talking about Thunder Rosa.

Now, I have seen write ups that Britt has talked positively about two other women wrestlers in AEW but that shouldn’t negate the receptive burial of Thunder Rosa for no true reason.

Thank you for listening to part 2 of the news/rumors/updates podcast ep! And thanks for reading the extra context.
