Social media - tips for betterment(Select your social media platform wisely)

What are the various social media platforms?

Should we be present on all social media platforms or not?

Social media is one of the most important things today for sustenance, presence, networking, imparting knowledge, or for any other reason.

The various platforms

**FACEBOOK **- This is the most popular platform among all age groups and it is probably the first social media account anyone makes to come on the social media platforms.

INSTAGRAM - This is the most popular platform among youngsters. It is mostly used to share photographs and videos. Just like Facebook it also allows stories, live videos, etc.

**TWITTER **- This is microblogging site which restricts only tweet to be of 280 characters. This is major time used for daily updates, news, and an information feed.

LINKEDIN - This initially came with the concept to connect with employers and resume sharing site but here employers shares valuable content and build their personal brand.

**YOUTUBE **-  This is one of the favourites for everyone. It is a video sharing platform and as the video is a popular tool to share information it is most widely used.

What is the audience available?

The demographics, their preferences of the audience need to be known so that we target the right audience and share the relevant information.

How is the purpose of these social media aligned with your goals?

We also need to be sure of our goals and align the same with the social media purpose.

What are your skills and resources available to you?

You need to know your skills and what resources you have. In case if you look for video creation you should be aware of the video recording tool, the editing tool, and how to publish that on youtube.

Once, you know all the answers regarding the same you can be in a better position to decide which platform to use and for what purpose.

You will be in a better position to select one or multiple platforms for yourself.
