Clarke County Jail corrections officer Larissa Thompson was arrested on Dec. 5 and charged with conspiracy to smuggle controlled substances into the facility. Thompson, who was charged with criminal conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, was paid to introduce drugs into the jail but was arrested before any contraband entered the facility, authorities said. The drugs were seized as evidence and Thompson is currently being held in the jail.
