Maybe we’re taking social media a little too seriously, but getting an unfollow from someone you know irl feels like a stab in the back. Logically, we know social media isn’t “real” and people have the right to see whatever kind of posts they want, but that doesn’t stop us from getting our feelings hurt—or the reverse: feeling guilty when we’re the ones doing the unfollowing. We may be more connected to others than ever before, but there are no social rules and norms for online behavior and it’s got us feeling some type of way.
