Hypergamy: it’s an old concept with a new (to us) name. Hypergamy is all about getting into relationships with a person of a higher economic or social status. We’ve all heard about this from period-pieces of the past, but it’s still a practice used by some women, even now. In hindsight it makes sense; women generally want to be taken care of, and the men with the most resources often have the best chance to “provide.” But this is the 1st century, and women don’t need men to be the bread-winners anymore. Is there a way to make the men in our lives take care of us, if not just financially?
