Danny-J has a special skill, and it’s one we could stand to learn from. Danny might just be the world’s best listener. No matter who she’s with or where she is, people just seem to end up telling her their life stories (even Uber drivers, true story) and finding deep connection with her. Being a great listener isn’t as intuitive to most people, but better connections can lead to better experiences and even better friendships. It’s an art form, and one you can learn, too. It all starts with working on our own judgements and projections, and leaning into curiosity. Basically, you just need more therapy. Maybe we all do.

Curiosity builds life experiences [5:31]

Take an Interest in what interests others [8:09]

Asking open-ended questions [10:45]

Coming from a coach’s perspective [13:22]

A breadth of experiences [17:13]

Working on your judgement [21:20]

Staying away from projection [25:58]

Caring about the person vs. the gossip [31:17]
