The body positivity movement has been life-changing for so many people. Bodies come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and we ALL deserve to love ourselves, however we look. But we’ve noticed a weird trend, where body positivity turns… well, negative. Now if you show up online as a thin person, you’re shaming people who aren’t. Or if you express interest in losing some pounds or gaining some muscle, you “don’t love yourself.” The body positivity movement is incredible in a lot of ways, but something is wrong when we’re still focused on what “weight” means, rather than the act of being healthy, however that looks. As in most things, the best way to live a life you love is to worry about your own journey, and let others live theirs.
