It's essential to differentiate solitude from isolation or loneliness. We define solitude as a healthy, personal discipline that allows you to engage in meaningful self-reflection. Loneliness, however, is a state of “sadness”because one has no friends or company. Although loneliness and solitude are sometimes used interchangeably, they are not the same thing.
