Wisconsin Badgers football fans should be excited to have Paul Chryst as their head coach, I break down three reasons why he's excellent and underrated.
First, Chryst has elevated the recruiting profile in ways that previous coaches haven't been able to; this includes landing multiple five star players, Graham Mertz and a top-20 recruiting class at Wisconsin.
We dive into his ability to make great coaching hires and build an excellent staff. I also think he deserves a ton of credit for keeping Dave Aranda and promoting Jim Leonard -- its these moves that have helped the defense maintain its elite level.
Finally on Locked on Badgers we talk about maybe the most important part -- Paul Chryst never has bad teams. It may not always be sexy, but he's helped establish such a high floor at Wisconsin that going 8-5 seems like a disaster.
