It’s hard enough to parent a child with anxiety or OCD, but when your own mental health issues are added to the mix, it can be all encompassing.
But it’s not all bad.
Having your own anxiety or OCD issues can help you be a better parent to a child with anxiety or OCD.
You can often empathize with your child more than others can. You know how it feels to have struggles and can relate to them in a way others may not. You might catch things earlier and get them help faster. All of this can be invaluable for your child.
In this week’s AT Parenting Survival Podcast I invited Stacy Quick, an OCD therapist with NOCD) to talk about how she parents three kids with anxiety and OCD, while having OCD herself.
This podcast episode is sponsored by NOCD. NOCD provides online OCD therapy in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. To schedule your free 15 minute consultation to see if NOCD is a right fit for you and your child, go to
