USC Triple-Double: Beth Burns talks tournament seeding, March Madness preparation

The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle Podcast's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the Women of Troy's NCAA tournament seeding and upcoming matchups that will be hosted at the Galen Center as well as the men's Big Ten Tournament run, including some baffling whistles from the Big Ten officials once again.

USC associate head coach Beth Burns then joins the show. She talks about the Trojans' bouncing back from their loss in the Big Ten Tournament championship and how she thinks the team will prepare and respond heading into the NCAA tournament. She chats about how the coaching staff gets ready for opponents in the NCAA tournament and the advantages of playing at home.

Burns also discusses the impact of Kennedy Smith on USC's defensive success and talks about the strides JuJu Watkins has taken this season to become an elite performer on both ends of the court.

Shotgun and Connor then look at where both Trojan teams stand, including the men accepting an invitation to the Crown Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas. The podcasting duo also glance forward at the upcoming matchup against UNC Greensboro and potential matchups against Cal or Mississippi State for the USC women in the NCAA tournament opening two rounds, which gets underway Saturday afternoon against UNCG at noon PDT on ABC.
