Every table usually has a table edge. This is the place where the table ends. Interesting that this area has its own name. It doesn't have to be. It could simply be called the end of the table top, but this part has its own name. Many of us have had unpleasant encounters with this part of the furniture - namely because we bumped into it and it was a painful experience. It's not the table edge's fault. However, it also does not explicitly warn of the supposed danger. It is simply inherent. It is therefore up to us to be vigilant enough not to bump into it unintentionally. It also doesn't help if we swear after the painful impact or blame the table or its edge for the pain. And that's how we feel about many things in life: we are actually responsible, not the circumstances. Even if we don't like it.
