When I started school as a child, we drew and wrote with coloured pencils and pencils. We kept these pencils in pencil boxes or more or less sorted in our pencil cases. To be able to use the pencils well and draw fine lines or write legibly, they had to be sharpened. We had a sharpener for this and it was a manual task to sharpen the pencils. This meant that the tip had to be ground down with a sharp blade so that more of the lead inside the pencil was exposed. If the lead was broken inside – because the pencil had fallen down before – it often broke and then came out during the sharpening process. So it could happen that a pencil that looked nice and new from the outside quickly became short due to repeated sharpening as a result of broken leads. Internal fractures are sometimes only recognisable when the affected area is used in everyday life. So it's all the better for those who take care of themselves in advance.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
