If they were easily accessible, the inexperienced or impatient would take them too soon: they would be inedible and might even harm him. So what may look like a refusal at first glance is in essence a protection against harm to the recipient. If you find yourself in a situation today in which you have the impression that something is being withheld from you - check whether this is perhaps even for your protection and not out of resentment.
