Perhaps your path has already led you through a very narrow passage when hiking or in the forest. It could be a thicket of plants or a narrow traverse through a rock massif in the mountains or a narrow passage when caving. For some people this is depressing because they may struggle with claustrophobia. But it can also be very uncomfortable for everyone else and you may wish for a little more space or a path where you can walk next to each other and chat. In such a situation, many options or small changes would certainly be desirable - but if you take a step back, you could also say: even if it could be different, at least there is a passageway, someone has obviously already passed through here before me and made a path. This way of looking at things also allows us to read Jesus' statement differently when he says that the gate to life is narrow. But at least it is a path. And he has already gone ahead for us.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
