We have all experienced being insulted and insulting others. Strange as it may sound, the easiest way to do this is usually with words. You say something derogatory or degrading and it's done. Often the intention is to cause offence. However, insults can also be non-verbal: a look can be extremely hurtful, especially if used deliberately and repeatedly, or deliberately ignoring a person, etc. The German word 'Beleidigung' contains the word 'Leid' and that is what causes offence: Suffering. And not just for the person affected. This kind of suffering is often very deep and often carries the virus of revenge - which, when acted out, leads to even more suffering. All because of the wrong word or the wrong look. But suffering can also end in another way: by saying honestly: I'm sorry for what I said.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
