Well, talking about steps... There are some that are really comfortable to walk on and others that don't fit my stride length or height. Some of them are very shallow steps where I don't know whether I should take an intermediate step or a really big one. Others are so steep that I feel a fear of falling when descending these stairs. There are handrails to counteract this insecurity. In other words, a structure at the edge of the stairs that you can hold on to. You don't have to, but it provides a handrail to ensure that you can walk up or down the stairs safely. The handrail is often not used, but when it is needed, you are very grateful for it. Perhaps you are also a handrail for others: they are simply very grateful that you are there, even if they rarely ask you for advice etc. Therefore: just be ready to be there when those around you want to hold on to you.
