When people describe something as hairy, they don't mean anything positive by it, rather something tedious, difficult. Yet I think hair is something fascinating: so fine and inconspicuous a single hair. But in the mass on the head, it insulates and protects from the cold. But then there is also the hair in the soup that you don't like. And yes, with age they turn grey for most and we lose them too, especially us men. And yet, who is worried about losing a single hair?! Yes, there is someone! In the Gospel, Jesus tells us that the Heavenly Father who created us has counted all our hairs and that He knows about every single one that we lose. Incredible!!! Or rather, how faith-worthy, how trust-building, relational, encouraging. Think about that the next time you lose one or comb your hair!
