Probably most of us grew up with a flush toilet. Yet as children, we went on certain holidays to what was then East Germany, and where we lived there was only one hole, a pit latrine. That means you simply defecated into a hole without flushing afterwards. The smell was extremely bad. A water flush, on the other hand, really carries away the excrement and after a short time the air is pleasant again. Most of the time. It is similar with our soul. We also have excretions in form of injuries, anger, negative feelings, feelings of guilt or shame, etc. What do you do with them? Where do you go to? I think the human being can at best dispose of it on his own like in a mental pit latrine, but the bad smell remains, the stuff is somehow still there. I am thankful that as a Christian I know that Jesus cleans up and flushes away these excretions in such a way that they are really completely gone and I can breathe easily again afterwards - without residue. Are you familiar with that too? If not, why don't you give it a try?
I wish you an extraordinary day!
