As a teenager, I was an enthusiastic photographer - and so I witnessed the whole development of the digitalisation of photography very closely. Would you have thought 30 years ago that you would take photos with a telephone? That sounds absurd... or make phone calls with a camera? Probably a question of perspective. In any case, in the past you had to invest more time in taking photos. From buying film to the more time-consuming process of taking pictures and finally waiting for the developed prints. Today, with the smartphone, it's all much quicker and you take more pictures. But I think the awareness and appreciation for photography itself has been lost. Technology may make things easier, but it can also make them emptier or poorer. Why don't you try today, independent of the technical means, to consciously and appreciatively do what means something to you and is important to you - and enjoy it.
