Dr. JB Hixson
Mary welcomes back JB Hixson) as we tackle the biblical topic of wisdom, something the world could certainly use a lot more of. Isaiah 33:6 tells us, “Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation. The fear of the Lord is His treasure.” Instability and chaos are not the product of wisdom, something that resides with God and is given to His people who desire it. Wisdom was present in creation, before anything was made. Solomon asked for wisdom and it was said that he was the wisest man who ever lived, and yet there was a huge disconnect and he did not finish well. When God gives us wisdom, what do we do with it? We are free moral agents and can accept or reject any of it. But when we desire to be wise and act wisely, we are a blessing, preserved and stable for those around us. The Bible has much to say on this topic in both testaments. The world may see us as fools for Jesus, but we know where we are headed when our days are accomplished, and so we seek to persuade men.
