I did my apple homework. I finally watched submerged, and I did the hearing test with the area pod's pro.

them saying maybe airports for only over. Honestly, all those hearing test apps that I use work fine with my OpenAIr o nes, but like whatever I get IT, you want to be more accurate, seal the air fine. But airports, s pro one really can do the hearing test. Apple, pretty grappling.

So with respect, tell me all about emerged. I don't I don't even care that much about you're hearing test. I'd kind of a do.

but I really want to know about submerged. My hearing test was fine. It's very uninteresting.

All right. So so was really fun. I'm glad that you convinced me that I was worth watching.

So so this is as reminder, this is the quick a immersive video that was made for vision pro like an original like twelve minutes long or something very long, long. But it's it's kind of like a little mini play basically. I went a while back.

I went in manhattan. There's there was A I I think it's still going, there is a performance are kind of play called sleep no more, which is I don't forget me, I don't know nothing about theater really. I believe that called immersive theater where like you, U S, the audience members are just like walking around the act like the building in which the play is happening in all different rooms.

And so the actors are just walking like through the audience doing their thing. And the audience can like walk up right to the actors and just like cover right behind them like a creeper, or like get in their way, like so it's kind of wear because you feel like you are in a play being performed. And at some, like when I I went there once, IT seemed like this is kind of a thing.

People do a lot um where like the more experiences people who who've done this kind of thing before would like really get uncomfortable ly close to the actors. And i'm like standing up to the side like I don't want to get in the way I don't I don't want to do anything wrong. I want to get yelled at and and of course, nothing was wrong.

Everyone was fine. But like the people who were comfortable with IT, we're getting very, very close, expanding right behind someone. And there were parts of submerged that felt a lot like that immersive theory experience.

Parts of IT that felt very much like, oh, I am way too close to this guy right now. I am really in his personal space like this. I should not be here. This is kind of creepy. But ultimately, IT did feel a lot like watching an immersive theatre performance.

And so IT was very interesting from that point of view and I think I IT can make me more than ever know you you mentioned the um the theater angle when you first talked about the casey but this can you be more than ever that the right format for a mercy video is long shots really paste and staged a lot like a play with very little camera movement. Like can you can occasionally change cameras, like change to a different out completely. But the camera, in my opinion, should not move much at all during this.

But IT really did feel like I was in a play at first, and especially like, no, I started in like a theme, just like in a submarine, in like the bunks. And so you just like watching these two guys taught to each other in the bunks of a submarine. And that felt so theater.

Like to me, IT was a great thing to see overall. I yes, I had some technical issues. I didn't have motion sickness ness. I did have a lot of issues with like know the wrong thing being in focus. I do think a more kind of infinite focus.

Wide angle theater like stage is the best move that we know of so far for this um but ultimately, I hope we see more of that. You know just like everything else in the vision, pro IT was a nice sample of something that we might have more of someday who not like? I was twelve minutes long.

And okay, that's great. You know, after almost a year, that's OK. I can't wait to see more if they ever comes. Sometimes maybe please .

yeah will see. I mean, I I really enjoyed that. I thought I was a lot of fun. Um I I I think it's one of those things like I said previously, whether or not have any interest in submarine films, whether or not you have any interest in short films, I think just as an exploration of a new new to me anyway kind of art, I thought IT was really cool.

And as with all things vision pro IT shows so much potential will see if it's ever really realized. And in a lot of ways, IT is realized because like this fifteen or whatever, twelve, fifteen, seventeen in a short film is realized in that potential. But I still was left wanting more.

I want either more of them or just a longer film of this, of this note. And so I just I don't I don't want to be down on the vision pro because I think IT such an incredible piece of technology and so incredibly cool. And yet, as we've said a nosis since february ary, you, we want more, give us more.

You have infinite money. Apple, you, you don't have infinite time. Now takes time to make things.

Things happen. But you have infinite money. Do something. Please, please do something. And this and this is a great example of IT. So more and more, please, i'll take seconds and thirds and forth.

I'll take more please. And and I know this does not fit their sensibility like i'm sure apple wants to do everything original and custom for this and that as a result, we have almost nothing. What I would love is just take existing experiences and bring them to us here.

You know, similar to what the talk show live did don't need to see this year, we're like they had a three stream of the of the talk show that was just like having a front row seat in the theatre. IT was a fixed camera, and a thing was happening on stage in front of IT. That was great.

Is that the only thing that heads I can do? No, of course not. But IT does IT and IT does that really well. Like make deals, give me a front row seat to great theater productions, give me a front receipt to concerts or sporting events or whatever.

like a sporting events would be. So on me, I know that's not your cup tee and that's fine.

And sporting events have unique chAllenges with like live broadcast bandwidth and stuff like I I get that. But concerts and theatre productions don't pay record, make a deal. Go pay record a great performance of some theater and some concerts and just put them on the vision for sell IT.

I mean, people paid almost four gram for this thing. You could sell those things for thirty books, and people will buy them like just get something on because like IT, this show is like you just appear. Three experience of sitting in front of a performance can be really great and really immersive and really compelling for this device. And we already produce events out in the world that if merely captured from a good perspective with three d cameras and had nothing else done to them, would make great vision pro content. So I I hope someone in, I hope there at least thinking of IT or or trying IT early in the ground workforce because in the meantime, while will be wait for twelve more minutes of original content we made, we can get hours and hours of great stuff on there with with some you know some deals and some fairly simple production.

Yeah, I couldn't be more. And to get ahead of feedback, there are some apps, some third party apps in the vision pro. I don't remember what I want to say.

It's like access concert, just like so much to talk about. I probably forget go back to show we there there are things that exist in the vision pro. I've heard a lot of people say that the I think it's national geographic or something like that.

APP also offers IT maybe not immersive video, but certainly like IMAX ized video. So there are third party ways you can do some of this stuff, but that doesn't negate what you're saying. micro.

And I I agree or heartedly, and again, I absolutely concur that theater or equivalent sorts of things would be phenomenal. Like for those of us who never saw or really didn't paid that much attention to hamilton, and up until IT was released, he was july forth through their abbot of twenty twenty. I lost my mind.

I mean, I you two were front row seats to me losing my mind about hamilton in five years after everyone else did. And you bet I would pay in twenty, thirty, forty box to be able to watch that in a immersive video in the vision pro. And I would absolutely kill for that.

And the sport events, all my word, that would be just incredible. And now there there are so many ways that people trying to make sporting events that aren't happening literally in front of you more, more interesting. And we've had a handful people send us links, again, off, forget to put in the shown, but the links to this thing that kind of in the spirit of the vegas sphere. But the idea is, as IT makes you feel like your city in the stand of a sporting event, and then what's presented on the inside of the sphere is the sporting event, you know.

I mean, so you've got all these people around you like the concert, the fish concert you went to um which makes you feel like you're doing this as a collective group endeavor and yet you're watching this not immersive but like you just all around you so I guess quote unquote immersive, not literally immerse or maybe my first so who knows anyway, you get the idea you got IT all around you and it's my understanding from those who've tried IT is that it's truly incredible and so yeah again, I know we're a broken record and I apologize for IT but in the off chance of anyone with authority of apples listening more, please, it's so incredible. Please give us more. We are so thirsty for more and I know again, sports is not really your thing, marko but like.

IT is worth the four minutes to watch the NBA all star. We can think I think these are each literally four minutes. There's NBA all start saying there's a super able thing now created.

These are all coming out months after the fact, but still there's so cool and show so much potential. And I agree who heartedly that maybe streaming this is a non starter. But oh, man, even if he was like a few hours delayed, I would really think about delaying watching a sporting event so I could see IT in immersive video rather than watching alive. It's that freaking cool.

So just just don't let the perfect be the enemy. The good like, don't wait until you can have like custom everything, multi shot, fancy edited, just a fixed camera in front of a great event. You that that alone could be extremely compelling.

And we are already producing in the world lots of great theater and stage shows and concerts and like magic shows, there are so many things like this could work for comedy shows that there's so much out there that this could work for anything performed on a stage. Basically like you can just put a camera in a really good spot and capture IT and sell that, and that would be great. And but IT IT strikes me that apples probably just waiting for like only the really high end contempt, like I please apple, consider consider the alternative here, give us more of regular stuff because that could be really great.

Uh, very quickly. We have a little bit health keeping to achieve and accomplish. Uh, first of all, if you american, we are recording just barely less than a week before election day. We're not going to be labor this hopefully but I know I speak for all of us and saying, please go vote if you're in american and i'm probably speaking for all of us and saying, you want our opinion about IT uh, we really endorse common heroes into walls and in generally speaking, the democratic party um the republican party seems to be intent on being racist and fastest and so on and so forth. Uh you can see the recent medicine square garden rally, which was discussed on a trillion different levels if that's what you're into uh, cool, I guess not really, but whatever.

But if you want people who are looking to govern rather than just do what they what they need to do to make themselves even more rich, then I strongly encourage you to vote in specifically to vote for coma Harrison to walls and democrat across the board. Generally speaking, wherever possible, there's of course, you what exceptions here there, but generally speaking, a vote for them is what we encourage. There are issues with all of the candidates.

Um naturally, we haven't really spoken about what's going on overseas a long time, but that's really deplorable what's going on in gaza. And there's definitely some associations with the current administration for sure, and that is growth, and I don't want to minimize that. But ultimately, no political candidate is perfect and for me anyway.

And now I will speak only for myself. For me, I would much rather have a commonly hero who has some questionable, very questionable thoughts about gaza, but seems to, at least domestically, want what's best for damn near everyone. And I will take that over a and who is mostly lost his marbles has demonstrated that he is a monster as a president, and his intent in his party are intent on taking away the rights of all of the women in my life.

It's just grow, stopped to bottom. I can't endorse that. I can't stand for IT. I would love very much for my wife and my daughter to have control over their own bodies. So for me that means very smaller.

I'll be a little more firm about IT casey he was polite about IT. Um there's a couple of angles here. Number one is you know whether you go vote at all.

So if you are eligible to vote in the united states, the elections these days are one in lost, mostly based on democratic turnout. Republicans tend to turn out pretty consistently. And if you're out there and you're like, I think I want to vote for trump IT, most likely you are gonna show up.

It's the people who are on the left politically, typically that have much more variable turnout rates. And elections tend to be decided based on how many liberal leading people actually get out there and go vote for the democratic candidate. Now this system that we have sucks there is there.

The putting system we have is horrendous. The party system we have is around us. It's suck. It's the system we have. And look, the handling of israel and gaza is messed up on so many levels.

And I don't know almost any american who who fully agrees with everything we've done with with our handling of that. The thing is though, you only have one choice right now. Your only choice is, do I want Harris or trump? That's IT.

That's the only choice you have. You don't have at this point in the election, there is no option that says i'm going to send a message or i'm going to throw my vote away or i'm going to support some third party canada. And I can't I just can't support you know, Harris because I object to that because you know what?

First of all, if you're concerned about situation in gaza, trump is, by all accounts, by his own words, by every possible analyst, by experts in in the subject, by people over there, way worse than Harris. So if you care at all about that situation, or about ukraine, or about any of the wars that are currently going on on the world univerSally, people who know what they're talking about way more than us say trump is far worse to to handle those situations than Harris. So you out there might be thinking, I I can't stomach what you know, the bidder, administration and probably Harris are gonna choose to do over there.

You might think that, and I feel you, but trump will be far worse. So if you go, if you don't vote, odds are you are probably more liberal than average if you don't vote. What you're saying is i'm OK about truck because that's what will happen. Like if liberals don't turn out, what will happen is we will get trump. So I urge you, even though we never have a perfect selection of candidate at this stage, that's not what this vote is in the future.

If we have a more diverse political party situation, if we have a different voting system besides first past the post or anything else, if we have other voting dyna s that allow us to make, you know, more nuances choices than great, that will be a great time. And we would love to push for that change to happen. But right now, that's not the option on the table.

Right now, the option on the table is you either go vote for Harris or we get trump. And if you care about any of those issues, I assure you trump is worse. And I know we have some conservative listeners left, and there's not many of you because we turned most many of you away over the years with comments like this.

But I if you are planning on going to vote for trump, H, I urge you to consider that almost everyone who actually has worked with him, or near him, or governed with him, or serving his cabinet, or commanded the military under his rule, almost all those people have since come out and said, for the love of god, do not put him back in office. So whatever you think will happen, look at what did happen. What actually happened is he burned a lot of people.

He made a lot of mistakes. A lot of people who have work with him are now in jail for being criminals. He is also a convicted value on many, many counts, in addition, all with other shortcomings. And he has specifically said that he basically doesn't care about some prety fundamental things about amErica like democracy. Now, in my opinion, anything that undermines democracy is the most unamerican thing you can possibly do.

If you say you won't trust the result of an election, if you say certain people shouldn't be allowed to vote, if you say you know, slogans like taking the country back, what that tells me is you don't believe in america. You believe in dictor ship. I am not only person saying this, this is not this is not hyperbole.

This is like look around at people who know what you're talking about because obviously we don't. But look around people who know what you're talking about and they're all saying the same thing. This is not vae.

He's not being subbed. He's not hinting. He is directly saying he does not want freedom and democracy. He wants to be the dictor. And what we saw when he was in the office last time is that there's a lot of potential for that, that our system is more fragile than we think.

So I strongly urge you, if you consider yourself in american patriot, there is one candidate in this election who is promising and has demonstrated the willpower and ability to undermine the fundamentals of our democracy. And there's another candidate who's pretty decent. I don't care if Harris not perfect for your politics.

Trump is the most entire american choice could possible make. And in my opinion, I noticed a good piece of other people. I don't think you can fly the american flag and call yourself in american patria if you support a candidate who wants to clearly undermine the fundamentals of our democracy.

The trumpets for you, this is tribal. This is religious. You don't give a crap about anything except your team winning. Go do whatever you going to do.

The liberals out there, I urge you, everyone else, I urge you, go show up if you show up and we have good voter turnout, we will crush trump. It's not even going to be close, but it's all about turn out. We have to turn out.

Even if he is, is not perfect for you. She's Better than trump. And as the only choice we have right now.

And even if you are very knowledge able and saying none of the supplies to make people don't live in a swing state and all that matters is, uh, people who live in a swing state shop and vote for your local elections, for your state elections, that stuff matters a huge amount, especially as a bullard against a potential another trumpet administration you want to vote, even if you're in a state that court on code doesn't count. And by the way, what we rationally think of a swing states, you know, whatever pizza, ia, michigan. Uh, was gone.

Maybe arizona, right? For all we know your state could be homos wing state either now or in the future. Don't give up if you're in texas and think there's no point in me voting, vote, show up and vote.

And again, even if you think your doesn't matter for the presidential election, vote for all your local state elections. And while you're there, check the check. Check the Harris checkbox. I think, uh, Michael s have explained why its super dupr important please. Uh, let us make the next time we record a podcast, not be super cent.

Again, going off of the swing state thing, like you might think it's not that important for me to vote. My state always goes super red or super blue. Well, what if this is very close in the popular vote? You know that if you know that many times the popular vote has gone to the democratic canal, but the republic ican canal has won, that's weird, especially recently, huh that's unusual.

Maybe we should change system um if IT goes the other direction, if it's even close to go in the direction, if the electro al colleagues votes in a democrat, but the popular vote is very slightly republican or even close and by the way, many votes are going to be thrown away or switched because of all the crazy megginson native happens since last election in like election boards and local government is like that um if it's close, they will take IT. They will cheat. They will use their judges they've installed over all the years like they will take IT.

IT can't be close. We have to win by a lot for IT to actually count. If IT is at all close, they will steal IT, I assure you.

And the system is way more fraught than you think. IT can't be close for us to win. We have to win by a lot or we won't actually win. So even if you think your vote doesn't matter, I assure you IT does go out there. Please, for the love of god.

He doesn't care about you. He cares about himself and making himself Richard dren, keeping himself maybe, possibly out of jail. nothing. He doesn't care about you at all. He says bush, convince you trump is a paranoid narcissist is very easy for anyone who's ever had a parade narcissist in their family or their life to identify these straits.

They're pretty good at convincing people on a shallow level to kind of be ond their team, to fight for them because they make you feel really good in a certain way for a time. Then they turn on you, and I I assure you, if you haven't had somebody who doesn't your life, you're very lucky. I unfortunately have.

They can always bring in new supporters, then eventually they burn them and they have to bring in more. That's why they have to develop the skill to keep bring in new supporters because they burn the people who are close to them. That's why you see this guy burning everyone close to him, and why he leaves a trail of imprison to people and criminals and people.

You have him who he first holds close and then burns. If you think he's working at all for you, you're being duped. I'm sorry you're not he's not working for you at all and if you don't want to believe me, that's fine. You will eventually and I I hope that time comes sooner than than later um and i'm sorry IT when that happens to you because it's not good feeling but he's he's doping everyone who who thinks he's supporting them because he's not so get out there, everyone please for the love of god, vote.

And so this was both because we didn't know what to put on the back and also because we worked out well.

The thirty of the what we're going to get there in a second, the microphone announcement just happened less than an hour ago. So when we get to the macbook A A macpro stuff, excuse me, we might be a little off on some of the details. Please give us Grace because this all just happen.

But what didn't just happen or not? The same context is what happened on monday. And on monday, we got a new wy mac, several new IMAX.

Even we've got ton of new IMAX in so far as there are seven viBrant colors and they really do look good. What I can tell, there's screen ella, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver. And we've got an m four, and this was the first time the m four was in a computer.

Move on to the colors. Uh, if those netlist of color sense familiar to you, you may be thinking is exactly same colors that the imac available and before. And I think the names are the same, but the actual colors are different.

If you look at the new color is along with the old ones, you will see the generally what they've done is made the bx less dark, because I used to be there was like a really dark at trade color on the back and a much pillar color on the front. Now the backs are not as dark as they were. Some of the colors have shifted in tone, uh, like the Green is much more Green, unless steal the pink on the back and no longer looks red IT looks pink on the back.

In general, I think they've improved all the cause. I kind of like the old colors, like they were so very dramatic and you the very SAT diverses, very understandable now that more even uh, so if you wanted a pink imac, you like but they saw the pink one. That pink one from the back totally looked red.

Now this thing looks pink from all angles. The Green looks Green year. The yellow looks yellow.

Are, I think I endorsed in your colors. Every single one of the colors I believe accept or silver is new. So check out the next time you're .

in an apple store indeed. Uh, so yes, we ve got all these new colors and we've got more information about the m for and and I think is the first time is in a computer computer, not ipad. Uh, so these all come a in the imac with a ten core CPU.

There's four performance cores in six efficiency cores um and so there's various flavors of imac. You could build them in various ways. There's the two port which has an eight core CPU and an eight core GPU. Uh IT comes with sixteen gigs of rain. And this is the first time that i'm aware of that an apple computer or certainly first time many, many years that apple computer starts at sixteen gigs RAM.

which means what's hn, it's not look at the time of the graph or I set the office. People say, what about this model? This is, this is a David chobham PH of apple consumer, all on one base RAM. Very specifically, you know, the imac, the consumer, all in one thing. Uh, and that chart is the depressing chart that seems to go up and up and up until you get to around whatever that is uh twenty twelve fish when IT stops going up forever and today's flat til twenty twenty four.

Now the imac comes with sixteen gigs best right by the way, that that name I don't not the official name or as imac prethee es m4 come of two ports uh I love when they named them with ports on them um and IT doesn't fact two parts will get to in a second。 Your choices for RAM are sixteen, which is the base RAM and twenty four IT is finally safe, entirely safe to recommend every person in your life that is okay to get the base amount of RAM in an imac. We will see this trend continue.

I was going to say finally the only .

thing that is drag apple is not the I an personally. They would have increased that eventually anyway. That is not going to be twenty two, seventy five or whatever and they're still shipping eight days around. They would have ver increased that eventually. But if I think I got a nudge from apple intelligence, so how loya, sixteen gigs and as base, even on the cheapest, the cheapest of cheap, the basis of basest model imac, sixteen gigs of red.

it's very good. I'm very, very happy about that.

I know we all are time for some bad news. S S S yes, guess what? They start at still two fifty six.

I mean at least they're so close to actual you know N V M I as as d pricing right now.

Ah the Prices are are insane and ridiculous um sometimes being like well like six times or eight times the cost of the sexual hardware that all the margin is buried in the storage. Now the end upgrades, by the way, are still insane, which is why it's so important for sixteen to be the base. Like what if is not the base or just bump IT IT up? You'll bump IT up her astronomical inflated Prices, right? So now you don't have to do that anymore.

You can get someone a sixteen gig. Is the base model right? You don't have to pay actually two hundred dollars or whatever.

S S D. Now arguably S S D is not as bad. People can use cloud storage and not everybody needs a lot of space.

RAM is harder to get around because it's kind of like, you know the programs. You don't dictate the RAM, but the amount of stuff you have dict, the S S day. You can also attach external disks.

There's more work grounds. You can expand the and you can expand the storage. I get IT. But to fit, this is new thing.

This is what happens, is that any time of, if you ever like, optimized program, and you found a boy acting like, this is the slowest part of my program, and I improved IT by ten times. Guess what? Now there's a new bottle c.

There is always the next thing that is the worst part of your program, or your spects or whatever. And on the imac, the worst thing about IT has now moved from the base RAM to the base SSD. Previously, this was second place for the worst thing, but now it's strong.

First place to six gigs. Bed SSD. It's absurd in the stain age, they should offer more.

They don't upgrading to five, twelve or one turbid costs way too much money. Uh, remember that you can attach external drives this if you really need to. So it's not as bad as the RAM situation, but it's bad. But just if I I your choices on the base model, two port and four or two fifty six, five, twelve and one time .

and we continue on a gig with internet is a thirty dollar option and it's still in the power break, right?

Yeah like an and because. Not on the computer that thirty dollars you're just getting like a power brick with a coron, which I still think is kind of interesting in clever and the size effect of them making the thing to thin C. R. Long ago discussion of the original m one I was that m one original m imac.

Uh, yeah, blister. Uh, so yeah, you can get gig ready. And of thirty box, there's a new twelve magic XO center stage camera with support for desk view. H, I don't have in front of me what the old camera was, but apparently was not that.

yeah. So desk is the thing where you can. It's like a White. The one is center stage camera saying a super White de angle, like the one in the maximum, is being super wide angle.

That a way where I can show you what is on the desk in front of the imac by taking the super ad angle and like the warping IT. So that's cool. And other stage means that will follow you twelve neg pixel.

I I think that's an increase in resolution, and I don't know if it's exactly the same cameras in the next studio is IT Better than the one that in the next studio is IT worse. I would assume it's probably the same. Um it's confusing because I the old camera was ten eighty but this one is twelve make pixel but they also say this one does ten native video. So anyway it's it's a very wide angle camera.

When you say my studio, you mean the studio display?

Yes, sorry, studio display, that is what I mean. sorry.

Uh, continuing long. There are two thunder boat or U S. Before ports. Uh this means the the eight core imac can support one external display with up to six k resolution at sixty hearts. The ten core imac can do up to two external displays with up to six k resolution at sixty hours or one external display without to ek resolution at sixty hurts.

And those core counts were the core counts for the G P U. So here's a case where, uh, if you pick a uh an una unbend S O C, you look at the number, of course, in the GPU and that dictate tes what you can run as an external space. So the bin one has an eight core GPU, the unit one has a ten core G P U. And the ten core G P U lets you run more Better.

And then apparently apple's website briefly said that the ten core could also support one external display without to hit eight k resolution at one hundred and twenty hurts and john is provided a youtube blink with a time so that we will put in .

the showers but but the website was updated very shortly after that to say no, just kidding six the art there's they'll see some little bit more confusion about the display capabilities, but I believe that was an accidental over specification ah for this particular model.

So we also get uh wifi sixty in blue to five point three, and that is no different than the prior model.

I don't think even if it's not different, wifi sexy is not the latest wifi. I standard wifi seven and there is a blue with five point four m not sure it's out yet um but you know so this is the lowest and model. It's kind of disappointing to see them bumping a bunch of other stuff. Not going to wifi seven because especially for the these type of things we build on, buy new computers that frequently if you're getting on like a base I am at something but yeah wifi six and blue to five point three, those jets may sound familiar. So even though the soc is master updated, the wireless stuff is not.

Thankfully the uh water ingress uh protection on the keyboard, the big keyboard with the inverted ity in touch I D was excEllent and i'm still using IT right now. It's not sticky either, which is a double bonus. But but yeah, I promise itself, I wouldn't tell youtube that's that's why i'm just talking, talking to the listeners.

But yeah, now if I do IT again, then I can buy. I am thinking about to hear again so I could buy a usc keyboard and mouse, which is excEllent news. However, the internet was very perturbed. John, why was the internet preterm?

Ed, the turtle is still harpoon. We are referring to the a apple magic mouse, uh, which has its charging part on the bottom. So you have to turn over on its little hard turtle back and as as a around to get a little wire and there to charge.

And you can use IT what charging that remains true. Basically, what they do with the profiles kind of like they just change the lighting import to the U. S.

B. C, but not entirely. We'll get to that in the second. But yeah, if you're wondering if they redesigned the mouse to be different or to move the charge or they did not. So I get used to that. One of the things that I saw a little spects is the way apple refers to their cheaper keyboard that doesn't have touch I D IT does have a key where the touch I D thing is an Operate and corner.

But apple calls IT called magic keyboard with lock key like that knew what the hell a lucky y, but they just mean the key is in the upper right that has a lock icon on that IT presubscribed computer that drives people are a little bit badly because they exactly hit when they are rich on the delete key in oxyde screen. So if you can use like Carrie and there is something to disabled that key. But anyway the G P board still has no such I D A N IT IT just has a lucky y uh we have some semi breaking news that I didn't have time to uh confirm but the looks legit from je cream cream max.

Uh, pointing out that there is a change to the keyboard that the casey built this is drinking to is like I can just buy another one did buy another one of if you bought the public extended keyboard with numeric ipad, whatever the one with the inverted t. Ara is. Apparently the new U.

S, B, C. Models put the little globe icon, the F, N. Globe icon, in the lower left. Uh, and that took about half the space that used to be used by the control key.

So if you're used to having the extending keyboard and reaching always down to the lower left corner with your pinky to hit the very big double light control key, guess what is not there anymore? Now there's a single White control key and all in the corner is not the control key. It's the globe thing. The theory is that because the globe key is used like the window telling and everything like that. So that's not great because I really like the double y control key in the corner there, but I also like the apple keyboard.

So I will just be very careful and not spilled drinks into mind, which is very unlikely happened because my drink is actually not on a level such that water spilled could get to my keyboard because my water below the level of my keyboards, it's must the water to leap out of my glass and jumped up under my keyboard. I don't have that problem but casey, who seemingly cannot take the advice of his uh, orders and Better continue to where can go into his keyboard and so you should be lucky that is still work. So as I assume you would also frown upon the globe key hugging lower left .

corner uh in principle yes I think is I certainly am not keen on that. When I saw this one bye just human before recording, I was like we what um I think this is something I could probably get used to but this is it's certainly not something i'm seeking out.

However, the window telling thing I do really enjoy and actually this is an aside but I watched a video from front of the show, win Nelson and I will try to remember to put this one of the shown notes, but he was going through some like, interesting macos system tweet you can make or something on those lines, I think. Forget exactly what the stick of the video was. Here go hidden pro tips of macos zoia.

And I have I have never been more excited to go system preferences because one of the things there were two keys to window tAiling that queen brought my attention, neither which I knew were available. First of all, you drawing window around and I believe it's you hold the option key. Then, instead of just dragged IT Willy nearly IT IT will try to slot IT into one of those like buckets, like half the screen court of the screen eta, rather than just free form a dragon, the window around, which was an incredible improvement in my quality of life.

And then the other thing was it's been driving me bananas that there's a gap in between the windows and around the outside of the windows when you tie them like White, no, I don't need they don't need to be cushion. They're fine. They can touch each other. It's not like cars where there's no touch.

It's like my favorite feature of this feature that I don't use love the margins. I wish they were adjustable, but fine. I don't use this feature. That was not a big deal, but it's good to the option.

Is casey hate the margins? I hate the margins and so you can go some more insistent preferences. I don't recall exactly where this is um but again, we will put a link to video on the show notes where you can see how do you turn off the margins, which i've done.

And I think a lot of the people who criticize such the magic mouse, uh, don't seem you people who use the magic mouse I use one of as my grams. I have used that for years, ten years. I may, it's been up for a long time. So I used to use the double a powered version which didn't have the charging port problem, had different .

problem is true .

um you .

know so anyway you just for a long time, as my only mouse know, the only other mice I used in my life are on gaming PC because it's a terrible gaming mass but otherwise you know if this is this is that and I really don't like the charging import location being in the bottom, it's awful, but it's not that bad. Like there ways they can improve IT.

Like I wish the low battery notice would come on little earlier like some of the reviews appointed that I think comes on at something like less than ten percent charge. And I think if that would come on that you twenty five percent arks, that would be here. How Better, as you know, something like that know just a little a little little more aggressive on the reminders so that I don't as easily forget to charge um but I think most of the people who who choose not to use the magic mouse are choosing not to because they want a bigger mouse, not because of the targeting part location. I do think that would be Better if I was in a Better location that would allow using to the mouse are during IT, like the top center, which I think would be in the way where every .

other support center, that's your choice.

And by the way, the reason IT doesn't connect there is because IT wouldn't look as pretty. So this is absolutely a case of form over function.

I thinking like if they actually did that, they would have to probably make IT a two button, really a two button mouse like because I I think the way they would have to do that, I would IT would rather increase the front height to to fit the port there, so I could be done. I mean, obviously you you look at over the mouse that does IT so obviously be done, but IT would be a non trivial change to the shape, and IT would probably force them as to become something like what everyone actually says they want, like a taller, because I think the .

whole thing would have to get taller. Just need the U. S. B, C.

For on the front, you could not change the profile at alex over one little like like horizontal bump out four of the U. S, B, C. IT would be ugly, and that's why they didn't do IT.

Well, I don't think you've had to change the profile at all, nor would you have to make an an actual split to button is just the one big smooth top button would now have a little flatten part in the front with the thing like in and if you don't want you to be raised at all, you'd cut a notch into the front of IT like a little like to into IT or whatever. I I don't think the charging part the reason people are Sarah about IT is because how it's still uh, the same place was, which is not optimal. Here's the thing, they didn't redesign their preference, right? It's just like what the the airports max or any other things, this is not a redesign.

They just added U, S, B, C, right? If they had totally redesign their mouse and the new mouse, whatever the new mouths look like in the new mouse, also had the charging part of the very bottom, then I would be very upset. But i'm too upset about this because they didn't resign IT.

It's the same mouses before before they just change the port. right? And you can be upset that they didn't redesign, but like good luck as they do not redesign the preference very often, right? It's a long time between designs of these things. Um so yeah i'm not particularly upset about IT because like I don't use that mouse and it's not a redesign, right.

Presuming when they do a redesign someday, who knows one at this point when they do a redesign, then IT will be a time to say, what are they learned about the judging port location, right? And have they decided to change this from a very low profile mouse to a twenty one, whatever? And i'm not sure everybody wants to tolerate.

Some people want to tolerate some people like the low profile one. I I don't know what the ratio is or whatever, but that is one of the compromises of the low profile one they've always done. IT is selecting beautiful form over this one aspect function, which american not bother you at all? Most of the people I use that marker who don't use IT is because of the shape of the mouse, is nothing to do with the charging part.

Yeah, anyway, so I am disappointed in this substance. For sure. I will continue to be the mouse that I use because if honestly, Frank, what I am hooked on on this mouse is the scrolling, because you can swipe your finger on the top and its grows like apples trackpad.

To do that to me is the reason I use IT. I'm not choosing a stupid battery design. I'm not choosing a low shape. I'm choosing that. And as far as I know, no other mice on the market are able to do that.

So you know, as long as that continues to be the case, i'm going to keep you in this mouth because that the scrolling to me is everything. And so you know, i'm fine with the rest of that. But yeah, I could have been made a lot Better and they just didn't do IT.

And you know sometimes apple does this kind of like you know cynical updates almost where it's like. We we so don't care about this product that but we have some reason we into update IT that we're going to do just the absolute bare minimum. You see also the ipad mini update.

You know we're going to do the absolute bar minimum here. And and just like you know, it's like a unique touch command. Just touch the product. SHE was a little as possible like we're new. We have dated USB c, that's what you guys wanted to crickets know I I .

don't know they like going to schedule for update the perfect or their mostly in pretis. It's just many, many, many, many years between. And just like it's not the time for them to update the profile, but they do you know keep them from being embarrassingly other day with lighting.

So I just swap the port when IT comes time to them for them to make new proffer als at some point in the future. Be careful what you wish for. Maybe we'll have a totally new idea about what they want to do. And the thing that you learn about IT, like the touch scrolling, will be gone a and by the way, third parties could do touch growling just like apple does.

They just choose not to because the market for such a mouse, I guess, uh, manufacturers think I would be very small because that's not what people want, that they want fifteen actual physical button all over the thing or they want game or eyes or what I don't know, the whole proffer market is, is weird. But so there could be third parties to do a mouse that has A A, A great touch server on IT. In fact, they're Better one because you look at the touch server since the magic mass, it's not that sophisticated or higher resolution so they could even improve that. But apparently no one feels like doing IT. So it's the apple mouths or nothing and someday when they changed, uh, who knows, maybe only the horn, these little super mice because the new ones will be, uh, not tear liking I mean.

given that they for years came with just top max and everyone has like a box of IT in their closet somewhere, who's ever bought this time?

I could not wanted to use IT. I've got some totally on open ones.

right? Like i'm sure there will never be a time where these are going to be hard to fight. If you want one to be.

the batteries will be dead. And of the charge.

well, then those double a battery ones would .

compelled to bring those back. no. I mean, and the thing is like there is so much more they could have done to this mouse to update IT, like for instance, maybe moves to a Better blue standard. The modern blue standards are even more efficient and faster and everything maybe add multi device pairing, that would be great. I would love multi mac paying on the on the magic mountain.

They used to have that, by the way, I think the original magic keyboards had multimap pairing, but the modernes do not, which is like a regression which is not great, have to feedback in the mouse, mechanical sample rate resolution of the sensor stuff that they haven't really been aggressive and updating. But it's it's apparently not time for that mass to be update some we'll do IT the day is not today. So what if you get this is not a redesign.

That being said, I was I was very tempting for me to buy a new track pad of mouse because the they are the only thing left on my desk that i've routinely use that uses lightning. And so I have this dumb little lightning adapter that system my desk all the time just to charge with these keyboards, this this a track pad and mouth that I have here. And and like I, like I, I don't want to spend two hundred and fifty dollars to get rid of this one tiny thing of my desk, but god is attempting.

I think I thought, and you know how to worry about the weird globe keep as you don't use the keyboard.

right? right? I think exactly. Thought that I could get black ones, which at the time I bought these, there were no black externals that that had touchid and now I could very attempted. Holidays are coming all how days coming. I'm just that's another thing.

by the way, about the IMAX across all the max, like they always have come with color match ferals. I don't know if the color match referrals have changed color soon they have to match the new colors like the new Green mouse is look different from the old Green mouse, but you get a color match, color match cards, color match a mouse and keyboard with whatever color of imac you pick, uh, and you cannot buy those color profile, al, separately.

So if you just have a random making, like I would love to have a pink keyboard, tough luck. Apparently apple will not sell you on, which makes me wonder if your keyboard breaks and you like, you know, you want to get a noon or like IT has a failure and you want to get a new on under warranty presumed ly. Apple has the ability to get you a new pink keyboard for your pink I C.

And they will do so. But it's wear that they don't sell them. Maybe just an elementary issue will be tough to keep colors and stock, but be aware, you cannot buy one of the colorful ones of any these things.

Well, at me, first of all, yeah, apple does typically have a mechanism by witch. If you give them the serial number of the mac and you say I broke my keyboard, please tell me a new one. They will usually sell you on through some time.

But you you know, if I go to the genius people in the store and have them work IT out for you and stuff, but there is a mechanism for that usually um in second of all, as mentioned, uh a lot of people who buy these these computers with that come with these preferrest don't and amusing those preferring there is a healthy volume, usually on ebay of any color you want of I mat, keyboard, mouse and track pad. So if you if you ever want like, you know the orange mass, just go to ebay. You can usually find IT for about this .

Price is the weird though, though they don't have them like for example, just for like just I mean, maybe as a wait because stock, whatever. But I feel like they should just be something that you can either have some women or amount of stock on the shelf in an apple store or just buy IT through the apple store online, but instead of going to ebay or having to either legitimately or pretend you have one of the color by maxon uh.

one thing i'm a little sad about is they did not. And as the same story with the harpoon turtle, they didn't change the design of the smaller touched keyboard. I have the what one hundred whatever key big keyboard that has an amErica key head on IT.

And I did that expressly because I wanted the inverted t arrow button and I don't really need the um numerical pad and I do use IT since it's here but I would much prefer not to have IT if I could but i'm going to going back to the weirdo, you know up down half height h buttons on the little keyboard and they didn't redesign that either and that buns me out but here we are going back and have step marco. Do you I unsure we've talked about this at some point. Pass hydron. Uh, marco, do you ever use a magic uh, track pad at your desk? Like is that just not your company?

You tell the story. We're turning to the imac with their weird prentis ze names. This is the imac prentice's m four. Come of four ports. Uh, what is different when you get the one with four ports? Uh, obviously has four parts, will get that the second.

But if you get the the four port one, uh, you get a ten core C P U and ten core G P U, as opposed to the bin diversions of them. Uh, and you get around that goes up to thirty two gigs, so you can get sixteen and twenty four or thirty two, which is the thing you don't an option for in the two port version you resist. This still starts in two fifty six even this is the fancy imac.

And two, sixty six, five, twelve, one terribly and now you can get a terribly option. Gig, the internet standard on the power brick thing on the four port version, there is an option for nanotechnology. Ass, I don't know if this is the same nano texture as the ipad, or the same nano texture as the X, D, R.

business. Are two different anorexia. Don't know which one this is, but it's two hundred dog option and you get a pushing cloth. Uh you obviously get four ports for thunder, four ports uh, on the m three and early versions there was two hundred bolt and two USB like on the old IMAX with four ports there is two thunderbolt and two USB. Now all four parts are thunderbolt because the m four has four thunderbird controllers. First is two in the m three and earlier uh and obviously all these things have headphone jacks, son on the side because he doesn't fit, because on the back, because to skinny, uh, you get a magic keyboard with touch. I D, and now casey seems to want talk about pricing.

Well, so the m four with two ports is thirty hundred dollars. And the M I say, m two, my could see I with two, with two ports. Whatever I just said, I like with two is thirteen hundred dollars. I like with four ports is fifteen hundred dollars.

That's the starting Price. I was as soon as you touch anything having to do with the option, the Price balloons very rapidly and makes you really question what that is you're doing. But thankfully, you don't touch that rap setting anymore. And if you really want to like and we've got through two times, I want to go already again but like the the prizes further upgrades that were .

all the marginal yeah very much so. But the good news is there there's target. Oh no, no, no. Never mind there's no target display mode. I was wrong.

yeah. I mean, so this is target. This point of people don't remember back in the day apple would give these all one max with the big screen is all i'm actually the big screen that was.

So hey, if you ever don't want to use this as a computer anymore, you can use this as a monitor because it's got a really big monitor that's built into IT. So the mac part of IT becomes like old and just like too slow for you or whatever. But the monitor still looks as good as I did the day you bought IT.

Now you can just buy like imac, many or something, connect IT to your imac and use the imac as a monitor because sometimes, especially the days of the five k imac, those minors are really good. Uh and apple took away that future years and years ago. Everyone keeps waiting for you to come back on the along ones. This is not that time. Um it's .

more uh it's getting kind of like uh, less excusable not to have this feature because these days these max have thunder able ports on the back of them. That is what is used to drive monitor. It's not like the case where, oh, you couldn't even run the five k because IT only works internally with the tool display controllers and is no external.

Now there's EXO buses now that could drive this matter. This is only a twenty four inch monter. It's got a thunder about four part on the back of IT like it's it's really small and thin.

IT doesn't take up a lot of room. IT would be a perfect monitor. And the other angle is the environment. Uh, it's creating more e waste when an image gets old and it's a little bit of old and slow or maybe you bought with all the eggs and because you got the base model and out kind of hugging.

And I can do apple intelligence instead of like throwing IT out or trying to give you a way to someone who might want an old junky computer, you could keep using IT, keep IT in your house. You could prevent you from buying another display because, hey, you already got a really nice display. And IT would prevent you from throwing IT out, reducing e ways. Now in the grand saying, I think so, you IMAX or purchase that IT probably doesn't really matter. But the lack of target display mode is getting worse and not Better as this has the m act becomes more and more like a monitor, as even Better potential ports to drive IT and as apple's environmental efforts get more and more urgent than twenty thirty approaches.

It's hard to get too mad like, well, that should have wifi seven and has wifi 6e and you know like it's it's a low and product you you want to be inexpensive and honestly， nobody needs your cares about the particular wife.

I standard on a basic imac. The fact that the couple of sixteen around makes us potentially the best imac update in years. The m four is the m three was already more than us not to do what most people in the imac.

M four is incredibly fast. Reminder, the chip came in the ipad. The single core performance of the m for is ridiculously good.

That's what matters for a lot of the sort of plane boring single core, single test type Operations that someone's going to do, like rendering web pages or just doing individual stuff that's not like massive parallel. Uh, the colors are great. I think this is with a really good I make upgrade and I know I complained about the city.

That's just because that's the new bottle neck. That is the thing we'll be complain about from now on. But everything else, I think they're pretty much done an amazing job on a if you if you want to buy all on computer for someone in your life, show them bunch of IMAX let them pick the color y'll .

love IT yeah it's a great overall computer and and you know even that you know I mention that the know the speak up pricing is really rough, especially when you look at the storage pricing, dear god. But that being said, if you were the kind of person who would speak up the rain before, it's effectively a Price drop now because the base has gone from eight to sixteen.

So if you were otherwise upgrading from eight sixteen, that was two hundred dollars before. So now it's kind of like having a two hundred or Price drop on your total configuration if you are going to get anything more than naked of rap. So overall, like I know you win some you lose some with apple.

I I wouldn't expect the stories to be anywhere close to what IT costs on the market because IT never is. Um even though I would expect you to get cheaper over time. Apple, but regardless, we didn't win anything on storage just time, but we did make a pretty big gan around.

I was very amused and impressed by tuesday's announcements. No sarcasm. I was I was here for IT and tuesday was the mac money and old man, it's mini.

Oh um there's a new a newsroom post. There's an announcement video just like with the imac and IT got more money for sure. So the mac mini is now what did they say? Five inches by five inches.

I believe um IT is also taller than I used to be, which is not a bad thing. And in fact, we'll talk about why it's a good thing, but it's too inches high, five inches wide, five inches deep. The m two mac mini, by comparison was a little bit lesson international half high, so have a shorter, but IT was seven and three quarters inches wide and deep. So that makes a difference of point five, nine inches a in the height dimension and two points and five inches in the wife and depth dimension.

Yeah, it's not being something like two thirds the volume total of the old one, which is actually not as much mini. Or then the rumors were suggesting, you know, people are expecting like an apple TV sized thing, it's nowhere near that IT. IT is not that much smaller, but IT is noticeably smaller yeah .

and speak of the apple TV that is one point three inches high as compared to two and three point six six inches wide and deep as compared to five. So the apple TV is just a little bit less than three quarters of an squatter and about one in the third inches less wide and less deep. Um the m for mac mini is one and a half pounds for the m four or interestingly, one point six pounds for the m four pro. The m two mac mini by comparison was two point six to two point eight pounds, so difference of one point one to one point two pounds. The apple TV meanwhile, is only half a pound no matter how you slice IT, so about a third of heavy.

So as for the case like yeah the rumors of being apple TV, it's pretty squarely between the apple TV and the old mac mini. And remember the old mac many those that case dimension has lasted fourteen years, only back to once that had an optical drive solid IT to know about all that cases. So it's long in the truth.

But what IT essentially made IT is IT is not a like mac, apple T, V. IT is a very small max studio. Portion wise, appearance wise, IT looks like IT took a max studio and hit with a shrinkage y uh and now IT is smaller and so that is clearly like the proportions they're going for.

And I think that looks good. Uh, IT won't cool if I came in like space black or something and then would more like an apple TV. But that was up for the case as I M having not see one in person. I think they did something smart by by enhances the family resembLance of the mac family because before the mac mini was kind of like the odd one out, it's like none of the other max like anything like this. But now just look like a small maxx studio, which is cool.

Yeah the the only thing I would say about the physical design of IT is um if using IT in server rax or server environments is is as common as some people might figure soon I I actually have no idea how common that is. But if it's common to use them as servers, this design probably is worse on a few fronts for that. Um you know for instance, the old design would fit into one rack unit, one you of height. And this one does not .

mean flat though. But everyone, anywhere who rax the old is put them on their side.

I think. But yes, so we will see you anyway. There you could get a one m that held like you two of them next to each other or something like that if you didn't need that many of them.

Um so there's obviously you custom things for having a whole bunch of them but if you only have like one or two, um the old design is probably Better for that. Um the new design also because they moved the power button to the back left bottom of IT. That's going to make IT fairly difficult to reach if it's mounted in pretty much and fit your finger in there.

And about the and so that's that's where IT is IT really on the bottom in the corner. Um I think I understand why they put IT there, and I think IT has mostly to do with cost. Um the max studio that this is the shunt version of has one of those like uh practical joke, uh hidden power button that no one can never find unless you are ready you know where he is uh it's unlike the back left corner and it's so carefully precisely machines into the case with just a slight intent that is actually hard to find even by feel even when you know where IT is uh, but that that buttons like that at cost, first of all, you ve got a punch, a hole in the case. And, uh, I don't know this is the notes, but like this new main cases made by some like a less expensive extruding process that saves aluminum for environmental reasons, right?

If you had to take all these cases and incredibly precisely machine out, a little thing for the power button and the incredibly precisely machine, the illuminant power button, going to go in that place, that adds a lot of cost to what is supposed to be an expensive computer, right? So if you're not going to do IT like the max studio, your other choices is, okay. I just beyond the front backer sides, uh, not unlike this.

The one of the next video, it's unlike the curve or it's like it's not just like straight on circle. It's weird. You can do IT on the sides and make IT the straight on circle, which would be a little bit less expensive. But you're still machining a hole in the case.

You're still machine the element button, whatever on. That's exactly how the old back did.

right? But this is cheaper. And why is a cheaper? Because on the bottom, it's a whole in plastic, which is way cheaper and it's a plastic button.

I think it's plastic that's black aluminum and not for Price reasons. But I bottom the bottom is plastic at the very least it's straight on. And yes, so that's that's where they put the power button.

I think the power button, the max tude o is also kind of annoying as someone who has to reach under my desk to get there. Uh, power boat on the front would be ugly, but a little bit more functional. But my guess is that for a computer this small, they are saving cost.

And also, if you look at the like, we will see the I fix to take down, but even look at apples like internals showing what is inside this case, it's pretty tightly packed in there. You could get a power button pretty much in any service if you wanted IT to, but the bottom is probably the most convenient as someone who never shuts down their computers. I don't really care about this. But you're right, marco, that iraq, especially if they're on their sides in the rq, even if that especially if they're they're on their side, getting to that power button requires you do they like polar things out so you can get at them or they're on their sides to leave a big enough gap for your finger to go in.

Yes, even if you know if it's not like a cabinet somewhere like in party, your TV console or you know just anywhere that you might have one of these things not on a desk, it's going to be really tough to get to the power button. A lot of those cases. But time follow up, thanks to Z M knocks in the chat.

Uh, the old mac, many the power button walls on a curve service. But IT was that that black plastic section of the back. So IT was curved in the plastic.

not in metal. Yeah I mean, like it's a smaller computer like this is a compromise uh, I kind of understand by that again, this is not this is their cheapest stand alone like non moner desktop things. So I give them a lot of passion um the air flow for this case but according to apples little diagram, it's all through the bottom right.

So there's no events on the front, on the back, on the any place like that is just a circular event on the bottom and they are according to apples diagrams IT pulls cold there in from the front of the circle, swails IT around, going across all the internals and push hot air out of the back of the circle. So you could still kind of use IT in iraq on its side with the cold in the front, in the hot in the back. But it's weird.

That is just a single circular thing. Uh, they do the same design they do with the apple T, V, where it's got the logic board. And then on top of the logic board is the analog circuit board for power supply and everything.

So the heat from that hopefully rises away from the logic board, right? But if you have side, I guess that doesn't really help. Anyway, that's the cooling time. I hope it's quiet. The apple TV that had a fan were so quiet that I literally could not hear them with my old man years um I believe the new apple TV does not actually have a fan, which is why thermodon onto the time, uh, this one does have a fan and hopefully IT .

is quite I do worry a little bit about this air flow design. I think IT is very likely to be quiet because there are no openings on the sides or top. So I I think it's very little to be quiet.

What what I worry about is its thermal cooling capacity. Like I think it's probably it's very likely not to have A A huge amount of cool capacity. And this, I think is more likely to throat than a more OpenAIr d esign.

The my studio is considering what this comes, get to the process. And second, this is very much like take what's in our lower and laptops, not our very high and laptop, and put IT in a case it's way figure than a laptop. You think that would give them enough room to do cooling that at least as good as an actor.

And I hope that's what they achieved. Obviously, if they decided what this this is, most of your performance oriented computer, they would just do what form computers do, which is you put a bunch of holes in the front to take the area and a bunch of holds in the back, push the hot air out and have everything goes straight through the case. That is not what they did.

That's not what the computer is for. Uh, I would I really do hope though that IT has at least as good cooling as the macbook prose that have the same chips them because it's so much sicker than them. Um obviously, those those ones have more room to spread out stuff like the power supply. Actually, they don't need to do with that is in a power break, but there are more room to spread stuff out. So we'll see how this work. But considering how they have done with the able T V and all the past mac monies and and the low power of the uh serious chips, i'm pretty optimistic that uh unless they do like a max studio m one max studio style uh fan and makes some object ous noise, that this one should be fine. I bet you could get IT the thermal throttle, but probably i'm hoping no more than you could get the equivalent macos thermos rattle.

right? So IT has an m four ten core C P U ten core .

GPU or no bones.

no bin ones, just that one. And or you can get you can opt into the m four pro. And I believe this was the debut of the m four pro.

Uh two hundred and seventy three digger bits, giga bits, not by its right go its the giga bites might think for clarification yeah you're right. No, you're right. I missed up to seven three giga bites per second of memory band with which is seventy five percent higher than the m3 pro。 My word, the M O had one hundred and fifty gigabytes per second of memory band with that is bananas.

An apple will emphasize you if you mention this at all of them that's really good for A I. They will tell you, um yes, in general, the increasing memory band with is good for module, for everything.

But like remember that these things use out of unified memory for the GPU and the CPU uh in the olden days at apple, where things were split very often, the video card would have tremendous bang with to its video memory and then the CPU would have lower band with a narrow or buses to its main memory. About combining them both here means that there is a good reason to keep crying cking up the memory band with, even if only for the the G, P. U.

stuff. But guess what, that's the exact same bus that the, you know, the the C, P. U. Get this memory as well. So this is A A rising tide that are raises all boats uh and IT is a big jump over the m3 pro which was no slats so thumbs up on this。

Um so the CPU situation for the m four pro mac many there's a fourteen core CPU. Um and then I guess you can option a bin version. Is that right? That's twelve .

core core bin.

Uh then there's ten performance cores on the fourteen core CPU and four efficiency cores or you know again, there's eight performance cores on the bind version for efficiency cores. The m three pro has one hundred and twenty. Is that right? That's one hundred twelve course cpm. What is IT goodnight and ago twelve core CPU, six month cores, h six efficiency cores in m three.

Remember the m pro was a weird one, done something different, the split performance and efficiency, more efficiency course. And I was kind of a stranger, entered.

The m3 pro was very different from the participle used to be they would just take the max chip and like a removes some stuff from IT。 But the m3 pro was totally its own chip and they were with six and six。 And apparently for whatever reasons, they decided that arrangement was not what they want to keep going with.

So now the the m four pro is ten in four back to sort of very heavily bias towards performance, right? The six efficiency cores sacrificing some of the those transistors are more efficiency course and fewer performance course. That's not what they want to do with the m four pro. So the m four pro memory brand with is hugely increased and IT is a ten four arrangement instead .

of six six p and then the twenty core GPU or the sixteen corporate for the bin version, uh, that is up from eighteen cores and fourteen cores in the m3 pro。 Then sixteen core neural engine seems the m three pro. So yeah, there's there's like one on here and this is a lot for a little little baby computer.

Yeah they they keep putting in these little speck things next to the C P. U. And I can't tell they're giving new information about like the the wife of the instruction. Decode or improve branch prediction or larger reorder buffers.

I don't know if that new information now uh, most most part doesn't matter as we saw like except with the m four, when we have benchmarking that in the ipad, incredible single core performance numbers, presumably that same and for in a mac mini will do even Better because i'm guessing its clock tired has Better cooling on IT and the end for probably don't have any benchMarks. Uh, this point, although probably they are being published as we're talking right now. This chip looks good. Uh, if you if you thought the m three pro is like not as good as the m two and m one pro, is this kind of like when you're whatever I think they have reversed that and now the m4 pro is really earning that uh， pro sophs.

Yeah he really does jump up quite a bit and and I would even know jumping ahead of A A bit if you look at the what the max is that was released today. Um I think the proof stands up pretty well against IT and a substantially cheaper.

which we'll get.

But h john, let's see S S. C situation grim.

It's gram, it's it's the mac mini. It's their lowest stand desktop and IT starts at two fifty, which you maybe people don't. Who is that starts that you are anything bigger cost so much money cause so much, it's ridiculous.

Oh, I really ish. They had bumped the base, but they didn't. Your choices are two, forty six, five, twelve, one terribly, two terrible for terrible and eight terrible. And if you get a terribly, you might as well, like, buy a new car with your make is ridiculous.

Yeah, the pricing of U. S. D. Options has not changed, is still like a twenty two hundred dollar option.

They go to terrible some most but not I mean, like just look at the one term, but like it's just it's it's insane. I do. The pressing is insect.

So S, S, D is bad situation. Hopefully you can get by with the base. Remember, unlike RAM with the S S D, you do have the option to just buy an extra d connected to a thunderbolt, expand your storage that way.

IT is slowly convenient, but at least you have that option. Uh, so it's good that the RAM situation is that are sixteen base on all of the magnets, which is great. Thumbs up. Love at your choices are sixteen, twenty four, thirty two, forty eight and sixty four, a wide range of options, all which are Priced instantly except the base sixteen should be enough for most uses for a mac money.

Yeah this the mac many has never been a good value when you speak IT up, just like many apple computers. Um the value gets you wrote very quick when you speak up anything. But and that's why the base model is so important that again, just like the other computor that used to start eight the next year at sixteen, it's almost like getting a two hundred and our Price drop if you were going to upgrade to sixteen anyway. So bravo for the sixteen down on the storage. You know i'll get to that some other time.

indeed, uh, the port situation on the front, like the x video, there are two USB c ports. They are USB three or ten gigg bits gigabits. Excuse me, per second, there's a headphone, important power indicator light on the back.

You've got power easy at HDMI and three thunderous ports. But what flavor thunder? What you ask? Well, glad you did. On the m four mac mini. There are three thunderbird four ports, which are forty gigabits per second symmetrical send receive. On the m four pro, we have the introduction in in apple world now the thunder boat five ports, which allows for eighty that's twice as much you get its per second metrical center receive, or you can optionally your devices, can optional ask for hundred and twenty gigabits per second send out of the computer and forty giga per second received back into the computer, join. Why would one want .

to do this to drive displays, that insane resolutions that the same refresh era's which gets back to the thing of, like, all right now we've got a mac with thunderous five. What kind of display of this thing drive an apple, I think, is being conservative in its spects based on like what mac west supports.

But hundred and twenty gigabytes for second, with displaying in compression, could drive a very huge single display at very high refresh rates. Awesome to see that even if you can technically do IT right now because macos doesn't support IT therof five is amazing. thunder.

One, two, three, four. We've kind of been stuck for a little bits per second. Three to four d didn't change the speed at all.

Five doubles the speed. Five more than doubles the speed because you can go a symmetrical for a displays that about five is amazing. I love to see IT on the mac mini.

It's a reason to get the one with the the m for print. I know it's weird that they tie the S O, C to hundred, about five. I think I actually has to do with the chip.

Remember the m four is great because this has got four thread controllers, but there are four th hundred four controllers, the m four pro supports and about five, as you will see with the rest of the computers, a lot of the with all the S O C things. What the computer has is very often dictated by what's in the S O C. So m4 pro supports hundred， about five.

It's great. It's very future proof compared to undervote for highly endorsed. No.

that's really cool. And you get a gig a bit if i'm skipping something. I'm sorry, if you wanted a thirty five cable, how would get how would you go about doing that on you can get from apple.

And I am shocked to learn that IT looks like a cost the same amount as the thunder four cables. That is the seventy dollars, because they have chips in the connectors and everything. And it's pretty sick B, F, looking.

But yeah, you can get one. Meet a long thunder, about five cable for seventy box from apple achiever. Elsewhere, thunder, able five is awesome. I'm very excited for IT.

But yeah, I mean, it's a lot of money. But given what's in IT, was there the was the myth busters that went through this? No, was just adam savage that went through this like a year ago and looked IT.

Okay, why is the apple cable so expensive? And IT turns out for a good reason. Who knew?

Are active cables. Other people sell them as well. But active cable means there's chips in the connectors that are doing stuff are supposed to just being metal .

wires that connect to conductors. It's not like it's the same as a five or U B. Any high high data rate thunder able cable that's one meet or long is going to be probably at least thirty forty books. So for the apple version to be seventy really is not that crazy for you know the apple standard mark ups and inequality differences.

You uh networking uh gigia IT internet is standard. You can get ten gigia IT and for a hundred box.

which is cool for all the mini, the really cheap dust up that you even have that option. And by the way, we need to attend that you also get two point five five. I could get the the standards that are between there as well.

So you can make, you know, to make the point for a huge amount of money. You can make an amazing, very small server m four pro ten gigabit either net. Assuming the cooling is good, you spend the money on the huge amount of storage. This is a very small premium package for a very high Price that has just incredible performance and connectivity. So uh, despite the fact that the mini, as always, are just way more expensive than you you think they should be, they are great little computers.

Now, the rest of networking, though, same stories before wifi. I C A blue ti thy point three still right.

yeah. Well, I display support.

So you've got hmi video output, which IT supports one display without eight k resolution at sixty hurts, or four k resolution at two hundred and forty. It's applicable to build the m foor and the m four pro for the m four and only the m four, or you can do display port one point four over years.

B, C, that means up to three displays, two displays, up to six k resolution sixty hurts over thunderbird, and one display with after five k resolution at sixty hurts over thunderbird, or, uh, four care resolution is sixty hurts of h chemi. That didn't sound right to me. Did not do that right. Does.

is that right this way? They were these things so like what they are trying to say is like what combinations of displays you can use this copy pasted literally from my website. And it's so freaking.

I wish they would just like on a diagram of, like, here are things that we can support. But I think you're right, right. It's just a very confusing sense. Uh the point is uh, with what you're hearing here uh is display point, one point for which you dictates a lot of uh, what the kind of output formats are supported. And as we noted before with the imac c where they said one hundred and twenty heard today, okay, that state is also not present here you see stuff like with the next one with two displays.

They say you can do um joints one display without the five k resolution, sixty hours over thunderbird, one display without the A K resolution sixty hundred or four k resolution at two hundred and forty over hundred or I so you get up two hundred but if you're looking for A K one twenty or A K two forty or ever, that's not happening on the m four one. It's display part one twenty four only. It's one about for only.

Uh, that's not what you getting with the import. We're just fine for the the base model thing. And again, it's great to the import supports to this because uh, the m four, if you look at the controller or also eventually save us from the macbook air that uh only supports to one extern display, the m force solves that problem by having more display drivers and the the make money shows that is capable are right.

And then the m four pro has displayed for two point one instead of one point four output important because if .

you go look at the week pedia page for display port, two point one, you say what resolutions and refrigerate is a place point. Two point one support. It's a big expansion in capability.

Do these max support all of the potential capabilities? That seems like the answer is no. But this is future proofing. I think it's just an OS issue. At this point, you get a mac with thunderous five and disports display. Part two point, one presumes ly, if not today, then eventually you will have access to all of the resolutions and refresh rates that are supported by the hardware.

So um that means after three displays with up to six k resolution at sixty hurts over the underworld or hmi, you can also do up to two display. Ys, one at six case at sixty hurts over thunderous and one with up to eight k resolution sixty hurts or four care resolution at two hundred forty hurts over thunderbird or HDMI pretty cool.

I've only apple sold some external monitors that refresh at the higher sixty .

hearts and imagine that um and then tell me about dependencies.

John yeah this is not so what I don't go through every possible configuration here. But like when you go to apples configuration or sometimes features are tied to particular models for a reason, you can get thunderous five and four IT doesn't support IT is only them for process that makes sense. But there are really dependency.

So if you get the m for mac many, your maximum thirty to explain and your maximum to terribles of us day just because apple says so the RAM, maybe that's a limitation based the soc on which once they want to manufacture. Uh, but the city doesn't any sense. And the m four pro, imagine this IT starts at twenty four gigabits of RAM.

Can you imagine? Can you imagine how is this even happening? IT starts at twenty.

The base RAM on the m four per bottle is twenty four gigs. It's like it's just it's RAM Christmas around here. It's ridiculous.

Unfortunately, the only other choices are forty eight and sixty four. They skip over thirty two. So if you have hearts set on thirty two to try to save some money on the ridiculous round upgrades, tough luck you.

Forty to sixty four. And IT also starts at five twelve gig. S S D, wow.

I mean, obviously the m four pro mac mini starts to get really expensive, real fast. Base RAM is higher and base S S day is higher. So small, but higher.

But this is the first carbon neutral mac, and we've had to do a lot to make that happen to review with their carb neutral claims. What they are saying is this thing will be carbon neural over the expected lifetime of you using IT. That means all the electricity uses for all the time I to plugged in your in your house.

In addition, all the manufacturing and everything. Um obviously, they are buying carbon offsets to do some of this. And carbon offsets not the great thing in the world.

But you can look at the effort they are putting in. They are trying. They are and because they're got a twenty thirty goal of carbon neutrality and everything. And so here's the first mac and it's the mac mini. So you know they continue to make progress, steady progress with every new product release.

And this one note doesn't have a screen. I I wonder like if they are including the power usage of the expected situation. I I can't imagine that the easier .

one to do IT doesn't come with the screen that doesn't even come with the keyboard and mouse is just the mac mini and a power but this is this is big progress and and you .

you know you're right carbon like credit not know amazing um but that's why apple is also doing a lot of other stuff like I believe there carbon insect credits are only a small part of what they're doing with making things carbon neutral like they're y're actually going on like being buying and real energy resources and that is very different. So so overall, this is a great thing.

We got a very brief in a little bit of information about the existing macbook air, which was a bit unexpected about us. It's around Christmas, baby. You could see this writing on the wall once the week started, m two and m three macbook s now started sixteen .

That's huge. When, as last time apple has done this, take the existing max that they have been selling and change literally anything about them ever, let alone and saying, hey, we the m two and the m three, the two pass model and macbook is that they continue to sell. They went back and they said, you know, but drop the eight gig model, make the sixteen gig model.

I think it's the same Prices. The eight model didn't get a chance. Look, yeah.

everything starts at the same Prices again. It's like a two hundred low Price drop. If you were going to upgrade the rap, it's just now now used to get that you get the sixteen gigs for the base Price.

You still get to fifty six stories, but you get the six gig. That's great. And and especially for a low end product that a low end, high volume product like the macbook air, that is significant and that is very impacted. So i'm very happy to see that.

IT is you can it's slower, but it's fast enough and I can get a lot of work on IT. And certainly if I was you on a budget trying to started, but I was development, no question, I would say get get. The apple care is great and you can totally do IT .

I I just can't ve this like the apple intelligence. They must be the apple ligand RAM ferry. Just wondering, rapper has magic one saying if in max we've been selling for years, you get more RAM too and no increase in Price, everybody gets more RAM.

And like I know like on the IOS Prices is like minimum they need minimum of aigs and and you're like why can't macos use minimum vacs a RAM? The RAM situation I like is very different than on IOS and ipad OS. There is no out of memory killer wound around hitting thinks hammer and killing them off for whatever.

Uh there is A A potentially aggressive use of swap um although they added that I believe I pad to us and IT releases. But anyway there's it's the situation on the max is more of a free for all applications are free to use more RAM than they are allowed to use on those other marking straight platforms. That's why max probably need more than eight when ipad only coding code needs a obviously, all these systems you could use more.

But yeah, you might have nineteen windows on your screen on the mac. And if those windows are on your screen, the O S cannot just kill those apps in the background because they are there, you are using them. And also on the map, you have things like crime.

Chrome has a new lower memory mode for its tab, things I I shouldn't be defending chrome because I have twenty six around and don't like if you don't have twenty six years where I maybe used so far.

Yeah and also just things like electron apps like like best .

top apps now use so much .

and the O S is not like point. The O S is not going to kill them off when they are not visible, which is the thing that happens all time. Even ipad away and ipad wise generally makes so you can actually see that many apps or that many windows at the same time.

So there is so much more constraints there. But yeah that's why they're bumping even the mack bookers they should have been years ago yeah but it's just it's amazing things. They should either stop selling them and introduce in inform at book are sixteen giggs but is not out yet, spoil alert or do what they did, which is we're gona keep selling them because we loved him cook. But sixteen gigs are in base everywhere.

The reason, whatever the reason, this is great. And yes, IT is years overdue, but IT, at least that happened. So that is great.

um I guess so uh RAM situations you've got three different tears. You've got that like not really entirely a macbook o but I get a macbook pro which is an m for no adjective that can offer sixteen, twenty four, thirty two gigs RAM. The what I consider to be the base of micro prose, the m four pro models have twenty four, thirty, forty eight, sixty four in one twenty .

eight as options starting at twenty four, just like the mag mini. And before starts twenty four, that's th Epace R AM i s t wenty f our. What is going on? It's amazing to .

And m four max, thirty six, forty eight, sixty four, one, twenty eight, baby.

that's the thing. You would think they would always do this. They charge you so much for the m four max models can't just bump the base RAM. The base RAM is thirty six on the end for max amazing what what a time to be alive.

And uh for storage, the m for is a half a terribly or one tabby. The m for p .

So yeah, that's for all the, uh, money goes with these models. But yeah, we've got all these uh great uh options and the RAM situation is looking Better.

It's really incredible. The display has a nano texture display option. This is the first time in years that i'm aware of a micro pro having a any sort of like antigay are display.

I would definitely check that. But a check we try that again and I definitely ticked that checkbox. There we go several years ago. Many years have proved almost ten years go now.

Yeah, I believe it's been since the retina came out because like the retina never had an an antigay are option. The last math uh screen option on the macbook pro was twenty fourteen ish like or no twenty eleven is before the redness came out although apple will tell you that all .

their displays are antigay are but I know what you mean matt finish for his antigay are is different there's antigay are coding that they can put on screens when they are still glossy versus making the Greens essentially textured so it's more of a mad .

fish yeah and this is the first one to appear in an apple laptop um since then like because IT isn't like IT was in the area for anything they know it's IT was not available in any apple laptop for you know thirteen years or whatever. Now it's back um you know makes sense because they just add IT to the ipad pro as well when that was last update update a couple a month ago.

So and the IMAX got IT, so they would have to put on here. And again, we don't know if this is the same nanotechnology sis, the X E R or the one the ipad. We do know those. Two different processes. I would assume they're using the one of the ipad, but we will find out when someone gets his under the microscope and or gets an apple person and answer the question.

I mean, IT, since the X D R one costs a thousand dollars and is very delicate, yeah. And then I proprio one costs one hundred .

and fifty dollars, and guessing it's the cheaper one of the two lens Green. Everything about the X D R is press, you know, ridiculous. Ly, so, but yeah, I am assuming the the X, D, R one is more expensive and more fragile than the ones they would put on the consumer.

I am personally glad that I don't prefer then our textures, but so I never to pay for this option. For people who do, it's great to have IT as an option and a pretty reasonable Price option. You can get a RAM up grave for those Prices .

that yeah one the one thing i'm curious about is like and maybe this only be known over time, one of the chAllenges in macbook screen management over time is trying to prevent or clean off the keyboard in print that you get on the screen.

I I am a little wary because Normally I would think this would be a great option to order for me because what most of the time i'm using my laptop closed in criminal move with a monitor, my desk, so I don't care about like the the color and chapone's loss when i'm at my death moves at the time. But then when I go out into the world with IT, then I would love to have this option. So IT seemed like a no brainer, except I I am a little concerned that maybe those keyboard in prints might get harder to clean offer or become permanent more easily. Yeah.

the keyboard in prints, you maybe thinking to yourself, why does apple still have this problem where the keyboard puts your greevy finger greece on the screen? One of they just leave a gap between the key caps on the, on the screen. And the answer is backpacks.

They do leave a gaps. T, yes. But that is a huge expanse of very thin metal and screen. And when you put any kind of pressure on a P2P is in the same much closing force marker would say, yeah you you press the screen into the keyboard if you want to avoid that, try not to school show your macbook is hard to do, is hard to put in any kind of bag where it's not squashed at all. But that's the problem is facing.

There is no unobtainable metal that they can put in a huge sixteen, eight expanse extremely in screen that doesn't flex at all in the middle. Um uh I I D think i'm assuming that they're using the more diable nanotechnology ipad, which you literally lets you swipe your fingers and and a pencil across IT. I'm assume they're using that and I think IT won't be that bad.

Yeah yeah that the province, by the way, there is a way to avoid that problem, which use one of those like pieces of cloth that you stick on your keyboard. We can close IT up like that does avoid the problem, which is to pan the but but that doesn't boy. But otherwise you're going to make .

sure you put the cloth in the right direction. Because if you turned IT around now, you pushing the greece against the thing, and IT doesn't let you think close all the way. And it's, you know.

it's it's not the reason, not the by laptops. And I I was worried like if like a little rink in IT, is I gonna just enough dress to crack the screen? I think the risk profile is is a little but higher with.

yeah yeah the tolerance is on these computers are very tight yeah indeed.

Now i'm very enthusiastic. I I am not in the market, will project to this at the ambuLance t ahead. I'm not looking to buy any of these computers. I want a new macbook pro, but I M three max mac pro. There's no reason for me a crae um and I also want a mac many as my you know flex and channels work station, but again no need up IT.

But if I were to upgrade, you bet your bottom I would take the ano text display option because I occasionally use my computer outdoors and I don't do IT often enough that it's an enormous problem but I would love to have an antique screen ah that sounds great. And speaking outdoors, up to one thousand kits in sdr was so in in standard um what's the D R? Just .

Yeah I mean like like this this is the thing about these displays like there. So there is still H D R max of sixty internet, which IT has been for years, which is what also what the X D R is right. But the user interface is not. An H D R user interface is in coron code sdr standard dynamic range.

And it's just a essentially a choice, a power saving and potentially image retention choice of when you're not an H D R mode, how bright should you get? And they're slowly been cranking up the how bad you're allowed to put in, in sdr, which obviously cost battery and obviously has to be safe for the screen with image, attention and stuff like that. Uh and but because they're not also raising the hyda namic rage ceiling, they're narrowing the gap.

So now is six hundred difference between S D R and H D R ways before I think they started like five hundred and six hundred and now it's a thousand. But it's important if you're outdoors with the laptop and it's bright sun, you can even see your screen. You just want to, you know, lean on that brighten button and you're going to be a racing Better to your life.

But it's worth IT to be able actually see your stream and working IT. And there have been utilities, you know third party utilities for all these max, that at sixteen nine screen, where is like do you want to run your mac? Yy, it's another it's you can uh, you know apple is not going that far, but build into the U. S. Now if you lean on that brightness, but you'll get up to one thousand eight.

I will say that I I think we're talking about at least pieces of the story before i've gotten into getting USB power cables that have like a little water meter on them. I don't need this information, and it's the sort of thing that in one side of my mouths I will tell you the people who are battery percentage on our monsters, and then in the other side of my mouth will tell you, I want to know exactly how many watts are Green.

And my devices, it's very, very contrar, dictor and silly. But here we are. And I will say that there's been a handful times that I have been using my macbook pro well connected via one of those cables and not a mag safe cable.

And I will turn the brightness way down and I don't member numbers off hand, but i'll watch the vortac that it's using when it's I will go to like I don't know, call IT ten watts that might be twice what IT is, that might be a third what IT is. But you know just what fake a discussion. You'll go on to twelve. There are ten watts. Then I go up and bring the brightness all the way up and suddenly, like fifty watts, there's something .

like that like you're you're six hundred nets .

yeah exactly whatever the the m three max will do. But yeah, you get the idea it's it's a start in surprising difference that brighten makes on how much power devices using its very surprising the camera is also way Better. We were privately talking about this before we got on the air.

We're not entirely sure what the prior situation was. We don't have time to go look at up, but they are saying that the new camera is twelve next magic XO and at the centre stage supported. I could have more than that was the case already, but IT seems not. But center stage, the thing would like pennzoil and what not in order to get you and whoever else is in front of the camera in the frame. And so apparently that's a whole lot Better.

Well, I see I I would issue caution on this because when you know what we saw with studio displaying know and those, what was the was the first product to have the center camera, one of the ipad, right? The one that turns around. The problem is the way stage works is that has an ultra wide camera.

And then IT basically crops in a region of IT that IT detects that you are in. So IT is a crop from a wide angle camera that you are seeing the output of. And the problem with that is that you lose a hunt of resolution when you do that because obviously you're cropping a what angle camera.

So um you know so what you get that is a blurrier picture. And typically you also get much more aggressive d noising in medium and low light. So IT ends up being a far worse picture quality. So I would you until until these things actually in people's hands and being reviewed, I don't know that this is going to be a meaningful upgrading camera quality IT might just be they had to make the camera optics Better just to give IT enough you know headroom to crop IT down for center stage mode and have IT not look really bad, like the first center stage camera said.

the apples are good about like making IT clear when the camera hardware has improved. They just wanted tell you what IT has and the way they phrase IT is like twelve M P center stage, which is like code know this stage, you know, is this brand of thing with the White angle, the cropping and all mega pixels tells you something.

But you like, was IT twelve a vegas before? Is a different twelve special sensor? Is the sensor bigger? Like they don't really want to give you lots of technical details about the camera, so will find out when people get these in their hands and start testing them.

And do aside, I side with the previous macbook pro cameras. Um I don't think they advertise describe with this like that there was the imac. The imac again. I think they did like did they for this .

is because I was wonder like you need to figure like what's .

the angle of the screen gonna like that showing your keyboard or it's a shooting past your keyboard because the, I seems like I do the and because you want to show the desk, not the track pad, right? But so some will try and find out.

I guess yeah but yeah, basically do not order this, assuming the camera is Better, you know, order order IT. Now if you don't care if the camera is Better because that first batch of centage cameras were terrible. So hopefully these are at least as good as the outgoing non and stage ones after the cropping has occurred. But honestly, I I I don't I don't think that I don't. It's super likely .

The output, the crop output crop put sensor is twelve.

Yes, we're basic getting there is a sensor size shrink, right? Because you you're taking the the inner crop of which probably about the same size camera sensor. So that's probably gonna mean more noise and more aggressive with reduction, which was the biggest problem with that first special stage camera camera with apparently desk.

He was right at the top of the web page, which I hadn't been. Again, these these computers came out just as we started recording. So forgive us for napping on top of everything, but we want as fast as we good.

yeah. So twenty four hours of battery life. I presume that just for the m four, not the m four pro and m for max. But i'm again, i'm not a harper son .

clear just in their press reality. I'm sure there's on the text back page, you see much more regular breakdowns. But the point is they are advertising really good battery life. They are not what they're not doing saying, hey, we got all these new great m for cp use, but sorry, you can have to sacrifice tune a battery life that is not what they're saying at all.

Yes, they actually quoting very similar batteries between the CPU on the compare page. It's like in the fortunate has the base m four twenty four hours and in the m four perversion that's in computers twenty two hours. So they're quoting you know ten percent different between the two and and that might be all IT is in practice.

I guess we will see, I mean, as usual with with you know any kind of modern and computer battery life claim IT depends a lot on what you're doing with IT. So it's not super useful to try to compare absolute numbers more of a relative thing. So yeah, maybe you can assume maybe the the higher and chips might get ten percent less bad life overall, doing no more idle things. But once you crank up, i'm sure they can burn to the battery way faster.

Yeah I was assume with apple numbers, uh, in these modern years, just assume those numbers would be you using your computer and pretty much the most casual way, email, web closing and that's IT no video converting, no compiling the next code, no you know a audio or video editing, right? The number is for just casual like office star.

You could be in a word processor, you could be a spread sheet, you could be browsing the web, uh, and that's what those numbers are kind of based on. So and the more hard where they put in this you talk with many times, the more already put in the S O S, the more course, the more G, P, U things, the more anything that's in there. When that stop the sitting idle IT doesn't take as much power.

But when you crank all those things up, you will destroy your right. And that's what you wanted to do. You wanted to use the energy is there to get your work done faster.

And the what that means is that you can, you know, would you rather have few records and IT take longer to to compile your thing? Or would you rather have a use way more power for a shorter period of time? Um and in general, it's Better to use way more power for shorter period time because a get your job done faster and b sometimes that actually saves more energy.

Uh so I you know it's don't don't assume if you buy this, you only have to charge your uh, once per day. That may be true on your average Normal day, but if you have a very intensive day with lots of zoom meetings even uh, that can really eat into the battery life. So although I think may be zoom uses a hard work exceler ation that is not that bad.

Maybe it's actually just the electron APP zom is built on each year your life, but anyway, Better life still is good. And these are remember, these are not we have talked about IT yet. We didn't mention anything about that.

But i'm assuming based on what I saw on the website, they didn't change the case. That is not a redesign case. IT is not a thir case. IT is the same one the the previous m3， M2 and m one macbook rose ren far as I can tell.

as far as I know that is correct. Uh connectivity m four gets thunderbird and display port one point four. The import pro in four max gets lender able five and display for two point one and it's still rims wifi six in bluette five point.

And here is where I say, okay, all the previous models, the imac, the mac, many fine, the macbook pro, I would have like to seen wifi five, seven and blue truth. And I don't know what dictate tes, this is, is just a broad countries. I don't think this stuff is in the s soc.

So just like they're just this generation, this round of revisions, the m four ones, they're just not is not the year that they go to wifi seven everywhere, right? Even the wife seven has been out for a while. And the only machines i'm disappointed that on are the macbook Price, especially behind macpro because that's where you want to see the stock.

Doesn't matter if for the other ones here a little disappointment um but remember thunder four verses five, if you use those sports, if you want to drive a big display at high refreshed, you want to have superfast storage as some kind of like ray ray of S S D or something, go to the m for product because the m they're not holding IT back from the m four literally only supports four and just like for or one point for. So if you want thundery five in the slide point two point one in four pro and four max, it's part of the S O C. You should definitely do that to pick up grade. If you care about those things.

it's going to display support for the m. For mac. They are up to four external displays, up to three displays with sixty resolution, sixty hts over thunder in one extra display without the four care resolution at one hundred and forty four hearts of h mine.

A secondary option you can choose is up to three external displays, two to two external displays with sixty at sixty hurts over thunderbird, one with up to eight, eight sixty hurts, or one with four k at two hundred and forty hurts. Who reached your mind? They really needed a chart. I know you said that a few minutes ago.

they need a darin chart, the m four and the m four pro. I didn't put them in here because there is the same as heard before. Like basically the the extra display yed support is made by the S O C. So the only one you haven't heard about before, the m for max for the m for in the m for pro, the same as IT. Wasn't the mac many, I believe.

right? And four pro is a fourteen core CPU or twelve core few elect with a bin one and sixteen core G P U or fourteen core in the bin one.

And one thing with the bones is i'm assuming I I used to the big ones are cheaper and you know they charge you a lot for great. And we really have no no basis for judging the uh the margins on the upgrade of the course except to size that they probably uh really expensive.

But anyway, um my assumption is that one of one of the advantages of the uh the bind ones, aside from being cheaper, is that I assume they also use less power at maximum because you can't crank up fourteen CPU cars because we literally have to have the work and that may be something to consider to console you if you're like, oh, I don't do I want to pay the extra whatever hundred dollars to get the one with all the course that work uh, do you care about that? Are you how what differences are going to make in your life? Or are you're doing jobs to take an hour and another going to take forty minutes instead? Um the m for max gets five hundred and forty six gigabit per second memory uh which is compared to the two four hundred hundred and ten gigabits per second on the m three max. This is actually the thing I think that makes me most dwells about these.

But let's see here, there is not a bigger jump up in the the m four pro of the m three pro I didn't know, but but the percentage is someone can do the math in the chat room, but it's not a seventy five percent jump, but IT is a jump.

No sixteen core C P U or fourteen core bin. Uh twelve uh, performance cores were assuming ten performance cores in the bin version uh, four efficiency cores and apple claims a plus twenty percent multiple. The performance over in three .

max seems like four efficiency cores is what apple things is sufficient for just right? Because the efficiency cars are doing like the stuff that's not very intensive, low priority stuff in the background. Just if apple efficiently cars are actually fairly powerful these days up and they gave you six of them one point.

But now with the with the pro and the max ships, it's for efficiency course for both of them. And all they just keep doing is give you more and more those power course. And yes, so this one has twelve 英桃 well performance cores or ten in the inversion。 That's a lot of very powerful course.

And I just the base maybe checking with them about how much stuff they have, right? But again, with cloud storage and everything, a lot of people can actually get buy two fifties, especially on a low and thing.

And then the micro prose clean upgrade, they took the m three ones. They put m four in them. And guess what, the m for S O S, the m four line is good that we heard the rumors months ago that, uh apple is going to put every one of its max on the m four, which may not sound exciting.

Like always do that. The answer is no. They don't always do that. Sometimes mask get left behind the poor max studio max to have the im two in them. The macbook are still have the im three in them.

But eventually they will come a time when the top and products and apple cells and all of its categories will have in for something in them. The plain m for is an amazing trip, amazing single whole performance is made up for a lot of the problems of the m three, especially the dual display is is support everything. M four pro takes a different approach on the m pro seems like a huge jump, great ship.

And the m for max is exactly what you would think would be IT is not the same as the m four pro, as far as I know, will look at the die shot to see if if the proof the max or just drunk conversions each other anyway, the form max is got more stuff the pro starting at higher base RAM than the m four in the max starting at higher base RAM still is great. This is a great update to a bunch of, uh, max that the rumors are they might be introducing new slim versions of the reason they'll be other potential if there is uncertainty in the future of this one. They go to the m four h, the m five or the m six.

Maybe they read design. The cases may able to take different choices, maybe able to take away the S D card. This is not that. This is the macro o prose you've known in loved with what I think is the best, obviously is the best m series set of chips of may. But I think the trade offs s from looking at the outlaw range, these things, the trade, ffs, are great for these. And I really do think the fact that this is the year and about five starts roling out really makes the m for pro, m for max max very attractive to people who care at all about external profile speed or future proofing for really high, high resolution, really high refresh ate monitors.

Yeah but overall, like I love this lineup now like this is this is so solid because I john said, like you don't have to try to steer people away from the ag gg based models anymore. Um the only thing I would strongly recommend pushing people to fight twelve um now that it's you only a two hundred upgrade that i'm pushing for and that four hundred and upgrade that is used to be maybe IT will be a little but easier like to me if you're going to do any kind of like you know substantial power usage at all on one of these laptops.

The one to get I think is either at the low end, get them a book air get, but they they have another tear up that has sixteen and five twelve for thirteen hundred dollars get that one that's like that's the new budget model for people who care about computers there two hundred hours map care with five twelve. Um and then honestly, if you want like you know the macbook pro features and experience you know john right that if you care about things like splay a future proofing and everything vulnerable of five is a big deal for most of us. That's not usually the case.

One of the best deals typically and apples line up in terms of you know bang for the buck that you get has historical always been the base model of the biggest laptop um so he used to be the old fifth macbook pro and power book. Now it's the six inch macbook pro and the base model sixteen inch has for twenty five hundred dollars, which is a around where IT has been for quite some time. Two thousand five hundred dollars.

You get the best screen, you get the best speakers, you get the best microphone, like all the other stuff that is, that is the best in the map where you get all of that. And then it's that's the m four pro with twenty four gigs now and five, twelve gigs that as the base. That's a really great all around computer that can do pretty much everything most people need to do now.

Yes, if you speak up, you can get more RAM. You can get more this, whatever. You can always do that this, you can go to seven thousand dollars easily with this thing. But if what you're looking forward like best banging for the book, I think it's the air and the base model sixteenth.

and this is also the last one or two years where we can, uh, not yellow to macbook, are for not having H D R. screen. And that's allowing for apple being behind. It's the the thing that people, I think, underestimate about the process is the screen, the screen on the the macro process has been great.

Having H D R, I think, is just, it's increasingly important in the apple world because all their phones take H D R pictures, right? You really want to see them in full H D R on your screen. India, uh, and the laptop screens are great. Macbook are, who knows? Maybe the import macbook there will have an screen will find out, but right now they don't.

And so people wonder, hey, should I get a really speak up, uh, macbook air or should I get the base model and for a macbook pro, what's the difference? I care about the pro and was like, the main thing that you will probably care about is the screen. You will notice the screen.

When you look at your pictures on the screen, you will notice most of the time, people don't notice anything about the screen like a viewing angles, color saturation. No one is ever going to ask that, but when they pull up a picture they took on their iphone in H, D R, IT looks different. And in a way that people will notice, even not, even not just side, just bring up the photos.

Their eyes though, you know, like IT makes a difference. So I hope just like this year, we have all risen up to sixteen gigs, RAM base in the apple world. Someday, the promise land where every mac will have an H D.

Yeah and also and when you go up to the ones that have the power max ship, you also get more ports. You get ports on both sides. You get the S, D card that you get all these up to upgrade to the macbook porters kind you know Better for convenience or connectivity or you know just quality of life.

Um ah if you can swing the map pro, it's a great buy and other map c air is also agreed by again, just can five twelve please for the level god, especially if you if you think like, oh, I need something for x code, you definitely want a lot of storage. If you're going to be using xcode, you know do not get the two of us. I don't care if you're like a Young person.

You're like, I wanted get into coding, but I don't need stories. I know I have like I stream on my music. I have my cloud photos.

Trust me, x code eats this space like crazy. You need the five twelve if you're doing any kind of ecod work at all. These are great products all around. I'm i'm very happy to see them.
