On this episode of Living Beyond 120, Mark and Dr. Gladden invite John Vincent to discuss hair loss, a problem many people struggle with as they age. Though it’s a widely experienced problem, many people are not aware of the facts behind the causes and treatments for hair thinning and loss.

“Hair loss is not life threatening, but it is life changing.”

John discusses a number of common reasons for hair loss, and he explores many different treatments that have been popular through the years. He considers where a number of these products and treatments fail, and he reveals some of the treatments seeing good results through the hair restoration community.

They also discuss some different kinds of treatment helping people to be less self-conscious about thinning hair, including scalp tattoos. 

About the guest:

For 25 years, John Vincent has been one of the most knowledgeable and respected experts in the field of hair restoration.  Like many guys in his early 20s, he wasn’t happy about going bald. From his own search for the best answer to restore both his hair and self-image, John evolved in a career that made hair loss answers his life’s work.

Originally as hair replacement clinic owner, later as an executive in the largest group of hair transplantation offices in the nation, and finally a leader in the field of noninvasive hair treatment options, John has maintained a reputation for being on the leading edge of technology options for treating hair loss.

He has been interviewed by on local and national television, including the Oprah Winfrey Show, has lectured and written widely about alternatives to baldness, and for more than 10 years was a medical editor of the International Hair Journal. John has authored dozens of articles about hair replacement, including chapters in an international textbook about prosthetic hair design, and has encouraged collaboration between the providers of surgical and non-surgical options to treat baldness.

In his lengthy career, John has helped countless individuals regain an appearance they’re pleased with, and his clientele range for celebrities, political figures and, interestingly, a couple of “Presidents” in an exhibit at Disney World.
