I got my grading report to summarize the first quarter of the school year last week. - 开学第10周 Hello Ximalaya, this is Lindsay from New York. It has been 10 weeks since school started.  I got my grading report to summarize the first quarter of the school year last week. There was a parent teacher conference （家长会）scheduled. My mom went to see all my major subject （科目）teachers. Were you nervous? The parent teacher conference was a little stressful for some students because they don’t want their parents to know if they have bad grades, but I didn’t care too much because my parents knew all my grades anyway. All the scores were published online, I really can’t escape from it. So, why worry? That was very wise. Has your mom brought home good news for you? My teachers had many compliments（表扬） for me and my mom told me that they all think I am doing very well, so that was something very good. It made me a little happy. My English teacher even said I could publish a book. I was really appreciative for their encouragement. But my math teacher said that I need extra work. So I had a reference book（参考书） borrowed from library and that was what I need to work on going forward. I can’t wait to see your story. Maybe you could consider to read it here through Ximalaya. Well, that was something still far away. I need a story that I myself like first. I got a notice from your school about the little mermaid show earlier. How was that? I knew you were a performer in the play. Yes, the play was finally done. There were two plays, one on Friday and one on Saturday. We got big rounds of applause （几轮热烈的掌声）after each show. I was just a little lobster （龙虾）in that show without even a line（台词）. But it still felt amazing to sing and dance on stage with all these people clapping （鼓掌）for you. How long was the play? About  1 hour and half with a 15 minute intermission. But we arrived an hour ahead of show time to get ready for the show. 前前后后也差不多快三个小时去演一个群众演员角色小龙虾。还不算之前花的排练时间。演戏，是Lindsay的真爱。Intermission 就是场间休息。 Anything else you’d like to share? Not much this week. Rehearsal for the play has consumed（消耗） much of my energy. But I do want to share my field trip that happened 2 weeks ago. I forgot to mention it before. Sure, tell us that. My field trip was full of team building activities（团队建设活动）. We had to go through this net, called a ‘spiderweb’ without waking the ‘spider’ which was really just a stick balanced on one of the cables. I was lifted through one of the top holes, which was pretty fun. Then, we had to balance on one cable with a partner on the other, leaning against each other for balance. We played some games that required thinking together and working as a team.
