Welcome to the Midweek Squeeze! This is a brand new component of Lemonade where I'll drop into your earphones once a week, on a Thursday, for a quick chat to discuss a whole myriad of things I find interesting from self care, to goal setting, to different tools I implemented on my healing journey, to breaking down the lessons I’ve learnt in my life that could be helpful for you. Maybe you're going through your own lemons now, or perhaps you just just thrive on self improvement, whatever brings you here on this fine Thursday, I hope you get something out of it!

For the first mini episode, I thought it was the perfect time to discuss the pressure we feel at the turn of a new year to suddenly be an entirely new person. Studies show this is around the time we give up on our well-intentioned new year resolutions, with 8 in 10 of us completely abandoning our plans by February. I don't know about you, but with the turn of 2020, that message to be a new person felt even more potent because we were heading into a new decade.

For this episode, I delve into:

  • why resolutions are doomed to fail
  • assessing the WHY behind our goals
  • how the stories we tell ourselves get in the way of reaching our potential
  • implementing really practical ways to achieve our goals
  • the benefits of regularly reassessing our goals
  • what hiccups along the way can teach us
  • the power of living a life in alignment of what we want to attract
