Georgia Love needs no introduction - but I’ll give you one anyway.
An exceptionally talented TV reporter, Georgia quickly worked her way up the ranks and landed her dream gig presenting the statewide weekday bulletin for WIN Television in Tasmania at just 26 years old, when she was offered the role of The Bachelorette.
While Australia was falling in love with her, she was falling in love with Lee, the man of her dreams. But while everything certainly looked like roses and champagne on camera, behind the scenes Georgia was facing a very personal battle.
Her mum Belinda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and within just six months, she tragically lost her fight, the day after Georgia’s finale aired.
Plunged into the depths of grief with the eyes of the nation watching, Georgia felt like she’d woken up in an alternate reality.
But as Georgia explains, while grief sometimes sidelined her in bed all day, tested her new relationship with Lee, and impacted the dynamics of pretty much every facet of her life, she knew she had to find a way out to live a life her mum would be proud of.
Georgia really opens up to me about her last few years, so just a trigger warning for anyone who may have lost a parent.
