A great option is a visit to a National or State Park like Michigan's Sleeping Bear Dunes or Guntersville Lake in Alabama. A trip to the mountains is always a fantastic adventure but much cooler than the beach at this time of year - and less crowded too! Other terrific adventures include trips to The Ozarks in Arkansas, the mountains of North Carolina, Pigeon Forge, and the indoor and outdoor waterparks of Wisconsin Dells. So many options!
