Our father has favored us! He has blessed us! He has done so in marvelous fashion, by opening our eyes to the realities of our true condition both as Sons of God and Sons of men. Whilst holding on firmly to both of these truths, the distance between who he is and who we are is becoming more and more evident. This honest grappling of our sin brings us to the same place as it did David. An honest recognition that we are the ones that have sinned and done wrong, and we are the ones in need of our Father's transformation power at work in us. It produces us crying out to the Lord in a way that we might not otherwise and as it stands, and for this reason, we are blessed when we learn of the specific areas of sin in our own lives. For the Lord has spoken that sin shall not be our master, and he is making sure that we can identify those areas so that he can transform us.
