I have to admit that it's tough sometimes for my company to clearly and indisputably differentiate itself from marketing companies. I have to tell white collar small business owners that marketing is about exposure, images, and perception. Often, buyers discover that the true product or service offering or promised result is much different than what the marketing claimed.
Consulting, on the other hand, is about providing solutions that typically involved modifying existing systems, behaviors or activities. Consulting also requires direct participation by the client.
