Kai-Fu Lee is the co-founder of Sinovation Ventures, a venture capital firm funding Chinese start-ups. 

Before this, he was the president of Google China, and founder of Microsoft Resaerch Asia.  He's also the inventor of a speaker-independent, continuous speech recognition system.
