Addendum: I made an error is describing these sad events. On the Titanic, 1,517 people drowned. Most of these were men. On the Lusitania, 1,195 perished. Most of these were women and children. The Titanic took almost two and a half hours to sink while the Lusitania took twenty minutes. The length of time that the sinkings took is the major difference here.
