According to a report by consulting firm Oliver Wyman, the overall market for China's K-12 after-school training,including tutoring and enrichment programs, reached roughly 800 billion Yuan ($122 billion) in 2019. The industry is expected to experience rapid growth after setbacks in 2020 amid the pandemic. The booming market is also giving cause for concern-----seven-days-a-week after-school tutoring classes hurt children's physical and mental health. Some even suggested a ban on tutoring institutions. But will focusing on the tutoring industry address the problem of involution? Will that relieve parents from their intense anxiety?
