Hey Bapl Nation,

Just had an eye-opening #LiveInTheLab chat with David Arsenault, a former athlete turned visionary on a mission to empower children through movement.

We dove deep into topics that challenged conventional wisdom.

The takeaways:

šŸŸ¢ Redefining Balance

ā€œBalance is an illusion,ā€ says David.

I agree.

If youā€™ve been following the show over the past couple of weeks, youā€™ll know that Iā€™ve been hammering on the concept of life tasksā€”the things you simply have to do for daily success.

When you think about it, there is no ā€˜balanceā€™.

Life is a series of responsibilities, and you simply have to make time for them allā€”or suffer the consequences.

According to David, ā€˜balanceā€™ is not some fixed thing to strive for.

Itā€™s dynamic and requires a constant coordination of responsibilities and goals.

šŸŸ¢ Be Vulnerable, but Never Compromise Yourself

Here at the Lab, weā€™re big fans of being vulnerable.

David agrees.

But he has also learned that vulnerability can get you down when you over-extend yourself.

So, remember:

Thereā€™s a fine line between being vulnerable and being a people-pleaser who risks burnout.

Prioritize your own well-being and know your own boundaries.

šŸŸ¢ Authenticity and Integrity

When youā€™re not authentic in your endeavors, youā€™re just using people for your own benefit without thinking about how your actions might impact them, for better or worse.

Donā€™t be that person.

Whatever you do, be clear on your goals and purpose. And always strive to help others.

Finally, we canā€™t talk about authenticity without talking about integrity.

Integrity is about genuine self-presentation.

Who you are in private is who you should be presenting when interacting with other people. Thatā€™s when youā€™ll find your tribe and support network.

šŸ‘‰ Check David's impactful project, Champions for Life. It's a heartfelt initiative focused on developing children's physical literacy and is a testament to the power of purpose-driven work.
