  1. 6459 people have been tested so far COVID-19 in Assam, informed Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference. Sarma also said after conducting Rapid antibody tests at Spanish Garden in the city, 91 samples have tested negative. Sarma also said that given the situation in Dhubri, sudden random testing will be done after collecting some 150 sample.

  2. 51402 requests from people requesting transit within state, informed Himanta Biswa Sarma. More than 12206 passes have been issued. Over two days 19000 pass will be issued and 19000 forms have been rejected. This is for people who have private vehicles. This will be there for three days. 41651 requests have come from people who do not have a car. There will be an attempt from the government to accommodate people as much as possible.   3. Under Dhanantari Seva, people can dial in at 104 for medicines unavailable in locality. Health officials or Asha workers will then deliver the medicines to people. This is a new initiative started by the state, informed Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.Sarma also said that the state govt. has disbursed Rs 30 cr in providing one time financial assistance to more than 1.5 lakh people stranded outside Assam due to lockdown. More forms are being scrutinised, he informed.

  4. Assam Government will bring back students stranded in Rajasthan.  special bus will be arranged for them. They will arrive  from Rajashthan at Kushinagar, UP from where they will come to Guwahati. The students had earlier sought help from the state government as they are facing shortage of food and other necessities amid lockdown. The arrangement will be coordinated in presence of Assam police. A team has already left for Kota in Rajasthan.

  5. Tripura Chief Minister has said that the state has become corona free. A tweet was sent in this regard by the CM Biplab Kumar Deb.Meanwhile, two women from Bangladesh who had travelled to Tripura have tested positive for COVID-19. Reports claim the women from Dhaka and  Brahmanbaria had tested positive for the virus and that they had visited the state recently.Some 11 close contacts of the women have been identified and full vigil is being kept at the border to prevent infiltration.

  6. India has build a bridge in Arunachal Pradesh to ward off possible threat from China. The bridge can handle 40 tons of weight, claim reports. Daporijo Bridge over Subansiri river was completed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) during lockdown, so as to open up this strategic line of communication in Arunachal Pradesh.

  7. Supreme Court has granted protection to Arnab Goswami from coercive action for 3 weeks. This happened after FIRs were filed against him in different parts of the country because of his remarks on Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi. Arnab had slammed Congress leader Sonia Gandhi during a discussion related to Palghar lynching incident. The bench of justices DY Chandrachud and MR Shah issued notices to many state and the Centre where FIRs have been filed against the journalist. The court has stayed all FIRs against him except the FIR in Nagpur which has been shifted to Mumbai which will be investigated there. Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami & his wife and Republic TV Editor Samyabrata Ray Goswami were allegedly attacked by Congress party workers. The attack took place 500 metres from their house. The attackers were caught by Arnab’s security. An FIR has been lodged against them.

  8. A complaint has been filed against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut over her remarks she made in a recently released video. This happened after Twitter had suspended  her sister, Rangoli Chandel’s account after the latter posted some controversial tweets on Tablighi Jamtees.
