A patient with travel history to Malaysia has been admitted to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), according to reports.The doctor told media that the person had fever, cough and fatigue and is currently under observation.The government of Assam has ordered to shut all the educational institutes till March 29 to check the spread of the dreaded coronavirus in the state. Earlier, the state government had taken some precautionary measures to thwart spreading of this highly infectious viral disease. However, a large number of social media users had criticised the government, alleging that the latter did not take convincing measure to protect the students from the impending havoc.
BJP city committee organized Coronavirus awareness programme in Guwahati on Monday. Dr. Pranjal Bharali and Dr. Niranjal Kalita, who participated in the programme, elaborated on precautionary as well as preventive measures that should be taken to deal with coronavirus. Mrigen Sarania, president of the Guwahati district BJP committee, presided over the meeting. Some prominent leaders of the party including State BJP organising secretary Phanindra Nath Sarma attended the awareness programme and addressed the gathering.
State level body building and fitness competition was organized at Jagiroad. Bitumoni Chetia, a BSF personnel and Bipansha Bora won the title of Mr. Muscle Man 2020 and the championship title in the women section of the competition respectively. The completion was held under the aegis of the Muscle World Gym (Jagiroad), a recognised body of the WABBA Assam. Some prominent bodybuilders participated the competition as judges.
Popular Assamese actress and producer of a prominent mobile theatre group Prastuti Parasar has urged the state government to lift the restriction imposed upon holding shows by the mobile theatres. Earlier, the government had ordered the mobile theatre groups to holding shows as a part of its coronavirus precautionary measures.
