Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal urged people to light bonti (diya) tomorrow at 6 pm to show unity in fighting coronavirus. He wished people of Assam on Bihu and urged them to follow lockdown measures as well as social distancing. He also thanked health workers for putting up a fight against coronavirus and thanked them for their contribution in fighting the situation.

21 residents of Assam stranded abroad will be paid $1000 by April 25, informed Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference. Sarma had earlier said that Assamese people stranded abroad will be given $2000.

Officials and volunteers will then follow up After this due registration process will take place and economic benefit will be provided after verification.

As Nagaland's first COVID-19 patient undergoes treatment, Nagaland’s Zion Hospital has been sealed where the patient was earlier admitted as an indoor patient.Nurses, doctors and health workers have now been quarantined. The state government has also sealed various areas including the patient's residential area. The patient had arrived in the State on an Air India flight from Kolkata on March 24.

Shivakumar tweeted, "When the whole world is going through a health crisis, the Corona in-charge Minister Dr. Sudhakar is behaving irresponsibly by spending time in a swimming pool. It's a matter of moral & ethical standards. He must resign out of his own accord & CM should sack him from the cabinet." Sudhakar is the key figure in carrying out the government's COVID-19 campaign in Bengaluru.
