  • State Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the state government will recruit 11000 teachers before Bohaag Bihu.The announcement was made in the Assam Legislative Assembly today.He mentioned about two pending cases in the High Court.“…we are sure of winning them and after that the recruitment process of 11000 teachers will begin,” he added.He assured that 322 vacant positions in various colleges of Assam will be filled within the next Assembly election.The date for TET exams for higher secondary school teachers will be announced soon, he assured.

  • 11 people were arrested in Mizoram for spreading fake news on coronavirus infection mainly through WhatsApp.The 11 were arrested on Tuesday after a suo-moto case was file by Mizoram police, said Inspector general of police (headquarters) John Neihlaia . A case under Section 505 (1)(b) (intent to cause fear or alarm to the public) was filed against them. They were then later released on bail. The fake news claimed that a woman who had returned from Singapore was put under house isolation after she refused to get admitted to a hospital.Later, an investigation revealed that the woman who had returned from Singapore was screened twice—first at Kolkata airport and then again at Lengpui airport. In both cases she did not show any symptom related to the virus.

His name now features in Asia Book of Records for creating art with mechanical parts.Rahul Pareek is perusing B.Com from the KC das commerce college Guwahati with interest in art of different forms.He has created portrait to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.He has also created portraits of Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Captain of Indian Cricket Team Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

  • Prominent singer and frontman of the Indian fusion band North East Breeze Rupam Bhuyan’s wife, Manashree Baruah passed away after giving birth to a baby boy in Guwahati.The incident came to light at around 12 am in the midnight hours on Thursday.Manashree Baruah was admitted to Maruwari Maternity Hospital in Guwahati.As per reports, the health condition of Manashree Baruah remained critical after the delivery of the baby boy; accordingly, she was shifted to ICU ward but was declared dead by the doctors after a few minutes.Her final rites were performed at Bhootnath Mandir in Guwahati at around 3 pm today.

This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on 13th March 2020 at the port of departure, informed the Ministry of Health.Many major airlines will feel the impact of the order. Some are even planning  reducing frequency of flights or cancellation of flights to or from India.

  • Pune police and its cyber team have announced that actions will be taken against those people revealing identity of coronavirus patients.Divisional commissioner Deepak Mhaisekar said, “The police have been asked to monitorsocial media platforms through their cyber cell to make sure that no rumours are spread and the identity of patients should not be revealed.”A relative of a patient affected with COVID-19 had filed a complaint in this regard.The identity of the patient was revealed through social media after which the family was facing social boycott, according to reports.

  • Two years after Superstar Rajinikanth announced his political ambitions, speculations have peaked around his role in Tamil Nadu politics.At an event in Chennai today, the superstar outlined his political vision and said that he will not contest as the CM.“I have never imagined myself as Chief Minister. I cannot think of myself in the assembly, it is just not possible. I will be the party chief, “ he said.His intention to take part in politics is to bring about change, he added.
