  1. 1 more person from Lakhimpur tests positive for coronavirus. Total count is 25. All cases from Assam are related to the Nizamuddin Markaz event, said state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

  2. After a person tested positive  in Guwhati's Spanish Garden, the area will be turned into a containment zone for 14 days, says Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma . No one will be allowed inside or to leave the place. Except medical emergency, people from the Spanish Garden cannot come outside. Essential services will be taken care of.

  3. The authorities in Assam's Golaghat district have informed that those quarantined from Nizamuddin Markaz in Golaghat, Assam allegedly spat around the ward. They even spat at doctors. Totally 42 people have been quarantined at the centre. According to reports, authorities had to climb from outside to close the windows of the ward. The incident happened just before state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's visited  the hospital.

  4. Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that more than Rs 15 lakh has been sent to residents of Assam stranded outside India. Sarma  had earlier said that  people of Assam  stranded abroad will be given $2000.

  5. 24 people related to Nizamuddin Markaz have tested positive for coronavirus in Assam. 812 tests have been carried out on people related to the Markaz out of which 24 positive cases have emerged. 636 negative cases have been reported but after 14 days another test has to be done to confirm. Nizamuddin is an evolving story, said Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

  6. Assam government has said that the state government employees and pensioners will get their full salary on the 9th of the month. One day's salary will be given toward building a new hospital, but if there is any objection then the person can inform the authorities, said Health Minister of state Himanta Biswa Sarma.

  7. Doctors and nurses will have to go on quarantine for 14 days after 7 days duty. They will be put up at Taj Hotel, said Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference.

Arunachal Pradesh Health Minister Alo Libang has offered an apology for saying that critical patients from the eastern parts of Arunachal Pradesh will be treated at Assam Medical College (AMC) at Dibrugarh in Assam. He spoke to media that he was being misunderstood and that everyone is an equal in the state. The East-West comment was made so that patients can speedily recover. He said that he mentioned Dibrugarh until a hospital was ready. But all patients will be brought TRIHMS and that is the priority.

  9. A dentist in Shillong has prescribed whiskey to one of his patients who had complained of withdrawal symptoms amid lockdown as all over the country only essential services have been operating. Many people have criticised the doctor for prescribing the patient whiskey.

  11. Two men from Tripura who attended Markaz at Nizamuddin in Delhi have tested positive for coronavirus. Health secretary Debashish Basu said that the two had come in direct contact with the first COVID-19 patient in Assam. After attending the event in Delhi they went to Bikaner in Rajasthan where they were tested positive. They have now been kept under quarantine.

  12. Manipur government is trying to trace 30 passengers at high risk who flew with the state’s second COVID-19 patient in Air India flight from Delhi to Imphal on March 11.He had travelled via Air India flight AI 889 and had sat on 8D.
