  1. State Health Minister has informed that , 4 more people have been found positive for coronavirus in Assam. Three of these are from Nalbari, and one is from South Salmara, taking total no in Assam to 20. All these 4 people are also associated with #NizamuddinMarkaz event.

  2. Minister of State Health and Family Welfare Pijush Hazarika visited quarantine centres at Sarusajai and in Lahorighat, Marigaon. He expressed his full support to people who are under quarantine. At the same time he urged people to not ostracize people under quarantine. Meanwhile, those people from Assam have tested positive for coronavirus. All of them had attended Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Dargah in New Delhi.

  3. Madhuriya Bhuyan, a 36-year-old senior audit officer who passed away in Mizoram’s Aizawl has tested negative for coronavirus. According to reports, he was living alone in his rented apartment. He had developed a fever the previous night and the next day he was found dead. It is suspected that he might have died from cardiac arrest. He had sent his wife and kids to his hometown in February.

  4. Nashik police has arrested a man who posted a video of him saying coronavirus is Allah’s punishment for you. He is also seen licking and wiping his nose with Rs 500 denomination currency notes.

  5. Members of Tablighi Jamaat have been booked under  National Security Act (NSA) for misbehaving with nurses and female staff at the isolation ward of a hospital in Ghaziabad. According to reports, they started misbehaving with nurses, made lewd gestures at them, including incidents where they were walking around naked in the ward.

  6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with eminent sportspersons via video conference. Modi praised the sportspersons for bringing glory to the nation through stellar performances on the field. He urged sportspersons to play an active role in “boosting the morale of the nation as well as spreading the message of social distancing along with asking people to continuously follow advisories given during lockdown.”

  7. Amid lockdown, Jalandhar witnesses a scenic view of snow-capped mountains. According to reports, air pollution has gone down as people are compelled to stay indoors amid coronavirus pandemic. That effect was visible in Jalandhar where residents woke up to a wonderful view of Dhualdhar’s mountain ranges.

  8. A baby girl has been named “corona” by her uncle and a baby boy has been named “lockdown” in Uttar Pradesh, India. The boy’s father said that since the child was born during lockdown, he was named such. "The lockdown is in national interest and so we decided to name the child as Lockdown," said the baby's father Pawan. The baby girl was born on the day of “Janata Curfew”. Nitesh Tripathi, the girl’s uncle, said that the baby was named lockdown as several people have inculcated some good habits during the period. “This baby will be the symbol of people's unity to fight the evil," he said.

  9. World Bank Group has approved a sum of $1 bn emergency financing for India to deal with COVID-19 pandemic.The group has approved funding for many countries so that this health crisis can be handled better.

  10. Saudi Arabia has asked Hajj pilgrims to delay bookings because of the uncertainty over COVID-19 pandemic. This February, Saudi Arabia had abruptly stopped travel to the holiest sites in Islam over coronavirus fears, as the Middle East recorded more than 220 confirmed cases.

  11. Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has launched relief food fund with $12 million amid COVID-19 pandemic. US has now become one of the major hotspots of coronavirus pandemic which has left thousands dead in the country.With thousands of homeless people living out on the streets there is a dire need for food and shelter for the most vulnerable.
