The NRC final list published in August last year on ”www.nrcassam.nic.in” has gone offline. The Union Home Ministry assured that the data was safe and cited “some technical issue in visibility on cloud.” The Ministry also said that the issue will be resolved soon. According to officials, the data vanished as the service period of the cloud storage provided by IT firm Wipro had expired. The renewal of the subscription could not be done as there was no coordinator available post the transfer of former coordinator Prateek Hajela. Officials also said that discontinuation of Wipro which was earlier authorized to look after all IT-related works in the NRC update exercise has caused this issue.
Government in Assam will soon disband State run Madrasa and Sankrit tols to introduce reforms that can resonate more with mainstream learning. State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that to mainstream Madrasa education, the government is disbanding the Madrasa Education directorate and making it part of the Secondary Education directorate. The Sanskrit Board too will be dissolved and the academic part will be handed over to the Board of Secondary Education,” he said.

The application process has begun and March 3 is the last date to apply for the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2020. LPG cylinders will cost more from today. State-run oil marketing companies sharply hiked the price of non-subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders due to spurt in benchmark global rates of the fuel.But to insulate domestic users, the government doubled the subsidy on the fuel to keep per cylinder outgo the same, according to media reports.The hike will affect LPG cylinder rates all over the country.
From February 19, singing National Anthem will become compulsory in colleges of Maharashtra. “Maharashtra government to make singing National Anthem in colleges compulsory from February 19,” Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant told the media. According to reports, in January, Uday Samant had directed colleges and universities in Maharashtra to play the National Anthem at the beginning of their public programs.
