**1. Dhubri & Kokrajhar under corona scanner: Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma - **The steep rise in the number of corona cases in West Bengal is a cause of concern for Assam that has two districts – Dhubri and Kokrajhar – sharing borders with the neighbouring State. The State Health and Family Welfare department has intensified its vigil against corona manifold in the two districts.

**2. Will train youths to enrich Assamese Wikipedia: AXX President Kuladhar Saikia - **The Axam Xahitya Xabha will train youths across the State to enable them to make value addition to Assamese Wikipedia, the Assamese language edition of Wikipedia. After lifting of the lockdown the AXX will organize workshops in different districts to impart training to youths. The Assamese Wikipedia came into existence on June 2, 2002. Any registered volunteer can contribute facts, history and other valuable insights about Assam and the Assamese language to the website for free.

**3. ‘DhanWantari Scheme’ Now home delivery of scarce medicines! - **The State government is going to start home delivery of scarce medicines on three conditions – if the medicine is not available within a 10-km radius of the patient, not available in the district and the State. Informing the media of this on Friday, State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We’re going to do it under Dhanwantari Scheme.

Assam DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta ask SPs to be strict on Coronavirus guidelines - **Assam DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta has asked a section of SPs and battalion commandants of the State to be strict in the adherence to new Coronavirus guidelines and make people obey the rules and regulation of the lockdown. He has asked them to be tough on those violating the lockdown.

**6. India goes online for paying bills, banking, etc during COVID-19 lockdown - **India is learning to go online for paying bills, banking, shopping, work and even praying during the new Coronavirus lockdown and this will be the new normal, according to Gipsi Research.

Muslim organizations appeal to stay indoors during Ramzan month amid lockdown - **Various Muslim organizations across Assam have issued guidelines for observing fast during the month of Ramzan, which is set to begin on April 23, amid the coronavirus pandemic. The bodies have appealed the people to have their sehri (meal before sunrise) and iftar (evening meal to end fast) at home and also offer Tarabi Namaz (evening prayer) from within their houses only.

Northeast Frontier Railway parcel trains ensuring supply logistics during lockdown - **Since the country-wide lockdown from March 24 has disrupted passenger-carrying train movements; a dedicated team of railway personnel were working round-the-clock to convert this disruption into an opportunity by running parcel freight trains on a fixed time table so that the supply chain logistics is maintained unhindered. This has ensured that there is no shortage of food and essentials in the Northeast for people in general and the front-line fighters against new Coronavirus in this crucial time.
