Assam lockdown from today till 31 March in the wake of novel coronavirus pandemic - Assam will be under lockdown from 6 pm on Tuesday till March 31 in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Centre asks action against those harassing Northeast people in the name of coronavirus -  The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked the law-enforcing agencies to take action against anybody found harassing north-eastern people in the metropolitan cities across the country. The directive came after incidents of people from the Northeast living in Delhi and other parts of the country faced racial discrimination in the name of coronavirus.

ACMS demands closure of tea gardens, leave with wages for labourers - The Asam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) has raised the demand that the State Government should take steps for closure of the tea gardens up to March 29 as a novel coronavirus preventive measure.

Tea garden owners not following health advisory: Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association - The Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) has alleged that the tea garden owners are not following the health advisory to prevent corona outbreak. Meanwhile, the ATTSA has already called for a 48-hour shutdown from Monday, as a preventive measure against the dreaded virus.
