**1. Joblessness staring at Assam! Dispur lacks tangible strategies - **It seems that the Assam Government has no effective strategy, as of now, to tackle the problem of joblessness that is staring at the State in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. The State has around 20 lakh registered unemployed persons, and the number is set to go up as many SSIs (Small Scale Industries) and MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in the State are compelled to downsize their work forces after the lockdown. The situation of joblessness will worsen further when thousands of people of the State working in other States in the country will arrive in Assam in the wake of corona scare.
**2. Niti Aayog lauds 12 Northeast districts for containing COVID-19 - **Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant on Monday said that 112 Aspirational Districts across India are doing well as far as containing Coronavirus is concerned. This statement assumes significance as there are 14 Aspirational Districts in the eight north-eastern States. The Aspirational Districts in the Northeast are Barpeta , Baksa, Darang, Dubri, Goalpara, Hailkandi & Udalguri (Assam); Namsai (Arunachal Pradesh), Chandel (Manipur); Ri Bhoi (Meghalaya); Mamit (Mizoram); Kiphire (Nagaland); West Sikkim (Sikkim) and Dhalai (Tripura).
**3. Shops to operate with rosters of building owners: DC Biswajit Pegu - **Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu has said that the building owners will make rosters, in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, for shops to remain open on their premises. He asked the shop keepers to follow the rosters to be formed by their respective building owners.
**4. Blood banks face stock crisis; lockdown relaxation brings hope - **Lockdown relaxation in Assam has brought hopes for the blood banks to increase its stock and mitigate the present crisis. The last 40-day lockdown had resulted in major stock crisis at the blood banks across the State. The blood bank at Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) had stock only for two days on Sunday.
**5. Lockdown violation: 3,870 people arrested; over 23,000 vehicles seized across Assam - **The Assam Police on Monday informed that it has arrested 3,870 people across and collected Rs. 1,79,00,400 as fine across the State in the last 41 days for violating the lockdown norms. In its daily report on the lockdown, the department said 1,838 cases have been registered for 2,621 incidents since the beginning of the restrictions.
6. Coronavirus: Sonitpur Magistrate prohibited movement of people, vehicles - In view of the situation arising out of Coronavirus pandemic and as per guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Sonitpur District Magistrate has u/s 144 CrPC prohibited the movement of people between 6 pm to 6 am. Moreover, use of private vehicles and commercial passenger vehicles has also been banned between 6 PM to 6 AM, except for emergency services like medical services, police, fire services and emergency response services for restoring telecom and electricity.
**7. Total lockdown in orange zones except essential services: Himanta Biswa Sarma - **Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that only pharmacies, grocery shops, petrol depots, supply of vegetables and construction of flood mitigation works would be permitted in orange zones. It means that total lockdown continues in orange zones in Assam.
