**Coronavirus outbreak: 41 UTPs released from Sivasagar Jail - **In an effort to decongest the jails to fight the coronavirus outbreak, the Sivasagar district jail released 16 under trial prisoners on personal recognized bond on March 30. The jail authorities dropped the inmates at their respective homes due to the lockdown.

**Scribe killed in a road accident at Guwahati - **A female journalist named Dimpi Baishya lost her life in an accident, in Guwahati on Monday. According to sources Baishya lost control of her scooter and rammed into an electric post in Sundarpur area. She was heading to her residence in Beltola from her office and her colleague was riding pillion, who sustained injuries. She was admitted to the Apollo Hospital; however, she succumbed to her injuries at around 11:30 PM.
