The Department of Energy recently announced the proposed phase II of the National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor (NIETC). A list of preliminary, potential corridors includes the Midwest Plains, spanning 5 miles wide and 780 miles long across portions of Illinois, Indiana, Kansas and Missouri. MOFB Director of Regulatory Affairs Dan Engemann join us on the podcast this week to discuss what this could mean for communities that lie in the NIETC path, as well as what actions MOFB is taking to protect farmers and ranchers from a federal land grab in our state.
