Part of the problem with the global economy is that nobody has a plan, except perhaps the Chinese Communist Party. Elsewhere politicians lurch from one crisis to another, and any long-term planning is simply about how they can win the next election, and that often means kowtowing to the powerful, who well might be funding their election campaign.
