The kind of broad band of resistance that ranged from anarchists to very bourgeois readers of the New York Times in 2016, 2017 is just no longer plausible as an account of
American society and American politics, and this obviously is one of the legacies of the Biden administration, is that they talked about, you know, reconstructing democratic coalitions, but fundamentally failed to do so. And of course, one of the fundamental issues on which that was the case was Gaza, and the other one would be immigration, where the escalation of anti-immigrant logic is very much, you know, it's a continuity again.
And it'll be some time, I think, before the actual deportation numbers of the Trump administration match those of the Biden administration.
